What does /who/ think about one of the worst stories of Nuwho and how has it changed over 10 years
>>70664682
>>70686979
It's overblown, it's just a slice of life episode with a really goofy portrayal of a creepy monster idea, in other words an average Rusty episode.
>>70686979
>one of the worst stories
speak for yourself pleb
>>70686979
I honestly enjoy it until takes a sudden head first leap into the toilet at the point of the abzorbaloff reveal. The final coda is nice though.
After watching Moon and 2001, loved Moon and was bored the hell out of my mind by 2001's snooby pretentiousness, except for the 3rd Act with Hal, which was great and should have been the entire movie, but after watching Moon it was very similar to what I wanted 2001 to be.
I loved the Isolationism aspect and I also loved Gerty, aka a more benevolent spin on HAL.
What does /tv/ think of Moon?
>>70686963
It's nothing like 2001. Also 2001 isn't pretentious or snooby, you're just retarded.
Moon is just a well made low budget space movie.
Also please no pretentious cunts trying to interpret 2001 here.
It represents the evolution of the human kind. Monolith ---> HAL ---> Giant Space Baby
Blah blah blah.
Snobbiness doesn't excuse the movie for being boring and uninteresting as fuck.
you cant compare, two completely different movies, they fit the sci-fi category for sure, but the themes are different.
Warcraft makes $124 million in China in 3 days, breaking several records

Thoughts? Sequel confirmed?
It'll have to make at least $2 Billion in the first week to make a profit. DOA flick t b h
I watched it. Never read any lore, never played the games, zero expectations.
It's ok. Better than Xmen Apocalypse by a long shot, but some of it felt forced, orc moses didn't make any sense, and there's almost no conflict resolution at the end. It's one of those movies that makes me want to post a picture of Frodo and ask why none of the orcs realized that green magic shit kills everything it touches or why such an honor bound society follows a dick orc that pisses on their honorable ways.
This movie will be a money printing press and will spawn 5 sequels, 17 spin-offs, a short lived tv sitcom, and a book of pottery written by an orc in mandarin.
Thing is, they will all be shittier than the original movie. Which is pretty shite. By the end, even the diehardiest fans will be crying in the dark of the night whispering for it to end.
And that's when they will reboot it.
Pleb filter thread
>>70686847
>thinks using the word pleb asserts elitism when in reality it just makes you look like a pleb.
>>70686847
I disagree with High Rise being pleb filter. Sure, it looked great but there are a lot of legitimate issues, in particular with the pacing.
Why would you want to watch this shit for 3 hours?
>>70686744
has there been a a dawn of JUST image made
>>70686744
Because there's no 8 hour version, so I'll settle for what I can get.
>>70686744

Has a stupider group of people ever been assembled? I literally cannot comprehend the sheer stupidity of every single person involved in the study this movie is based on.
I get it, the guards were given some power, but for fucks sake it's like everybody forgot it wasn't real almost immediately.
The prisoners were especially stupid. Trying to "unite" against the guards and be difficult, actively resisting literally everything the guards did, it was just shockingly ridiculous how stupid they were.
Every single scene in the entire movie involving the...

That's why people tend to enjoy movies like this: they make you feel so much more superior than the characters being portrayed.
>>70686556
Its a bunch of faggy college kids right?
>>70686556
>>70686556
one of the people involved in this experiment came out and said he didnt agree with the finding of the study because he said the guy in charge was clearly biased and would try to incite conflict at all the time when there wasnt any.
Why did people hate this?
>>70686493
Opening at Cannes was a mistake. Should have been a VOD release with a blu-ray follow-up. Maybe play some lower profile festivals on a small circuit first.
Who hated it? I didn't think it was all that good, but for a debut film it showed promise. If he makes another weird movie like this I'll check it out
>>70686493
Because it was meme shite directed by an inauthentic hack.

Of course everything was inspired by something else before it. But at what point does something become stealing and not inspiration or homage? Is it fine to borrow exact framing and shot setups to use in a film of a different genre or with a significantly different plot? Should it be obvious or subtle. And does it make a difference if the source is obscure or not? Does Quentin Tarantino or Abrams take things too far? Is George Lucas a good example in giving credit to his sources?
Example:

George Lucas gives credit to Lord of the Rings???
>>70686028
>giving credit to his sources
He just made frame by frame rip offs of classic movies.
How is this different the Tarentino?
i think star wars overrates af. not troll.
McAvoy gives a decent performance
Fassbender gives a decent performance
Isaac gives a decent performance
Jlaw just phones it in completely
I know this is trashy capeshit with a weak script but at least the other big actors gave an effort. She seemed to give more of a shit about First Class and DOFP.
Don't give me that she's always shitty because shes given stronger performances in movies like Cold Mountain or Silver Linings Playbook
>>70685972
she's always shitty
who cares. all you need to know is that Jubilee's lines/action got cut and therefor the movie's shit
I liked Quicksilver's scene. The use of Sweet Dreams is perfect. Love Marilyn Manson.
is this worth seeing?
i'm beginning to notice that if critics don't like a film, it's either irredeemably bad or against the status quo (or both).
>>70685929
it's painfully average to be honest
it does have a sequence that is basically the game so i enjoyed the faithfulness of that parteven though i never played the game
Try it, there's a HD rip out.
>>70685929
It is against the status quo. To the extent that the movie HAS a message, its message is conservative.
But it's also a thoroughly mediocre, lifeless cash-grab, and it only exists because some fucking retard thought it'd be a good idea to spend millions on the movie rights to the game "Angry Birds." It's absolutely not worth seeing
Bakshi's LotR is better than Jackson's, and you are a plebian if you say otherwise.
It's not, but thanks for the contrarian hipster elitist opinion.
>>70685911
I love the rotoscope sequences and the animation as a whole but its petty lackluster.
>>70685969
>>70686145
OP is correct, it's kino. Neither of you deserve to live.

Think it'll rise above guilty-pleasure-tier this season? I enjoyed Season 1 but the quality of the writing is garbage
