I believe my friend stole my Lord of the Void and I don't know how to approach the situation.

I left my collection of rares with him overnight to look at for trades, because I trusted him, but maybe that was a mistake.

I can't prove it though, so I haven't confronted him about it, but I was with him when we went to a card shop and he revealed to me he stole a Glen Elendra Archmage, so I know he is capable of doing it.

The thing that he stole was only like 4$ in value but the fact that he did really fucking pisses me off. But I am probably just gonna let it go and secure my shit in the future.

I don't know, what would you do?

I recently started loking into fantasy carthography. Pic related is my first attempt (rate it, give advice etc).

Do you use maps in games? Do you like making them? Do you prefer Black and white, colored, other types fo maps? Have you ever seen an EVIL map. Like you give it a look and say, this place is evil.

In our campaign our DM made a map of his world and we digitaly edited it to add a dick in place of an island. He didn't notice for 2 weeks.

Let's talk about maps.

Some nitpicks:

The map is made to look like an actual map, but the roads and trails are only shown in the mountains.

The river on the lower right part doesn't make much sense, it would usually flow in direction of the sea.

Yeah the river is even worse then you think. It is river that starts from the ocean and end in the same ocean. I was tracing from a SJW fantasy novel I'm reading.

For trails I had a problem. There were supposed to be trails in th emountain but I couldn't make it clear enough with mountain placement that people should could pass there. I opted for doing mountain only roads but the fact that it is something that jumps to the eye makes it a bad decision.

I fucking hate and suck at making maps - whether they are single building, a town, a city, a dungeons or a world. But they are such an essential part of any rp that, as a GM, I can't escape them.

Picture fucking related - Like fuck the GM that can make shit like that. How do i compete with fucking thing!?!

1. Draw some squigglies
2. Draw some more squigglies.
3. Designate squigglies as rivers and roads.
4. Good, now draw some rectangles along the squigglies.
5. Those are your houses.
6. The weirdest-looking rectangle is a church of major faith.
7. The biggest rectangle in the center is town hall/castle/imperial palace/Chief's blinged-out throne
8. Draw some squigglies along the sides of the image, then flood fill everything inside with brown.
9. Flood fill squigglies and rectangles with darker shade of brown.

My Necron playing friend recently started to play:
Overlord - veil of darkness, res orb, warscythe
Cryptek - solar staff
Lychguard - warscythes

Now I cannot beat them with my guard, there's no way I can inflict more than 3 wounds on them considering their 3+ armour, 4+ invun and 3+ RP. Pask can maybe get 3 kills if he's lucky - other than that I'm screwed.

How does a guard player win in this situation?

Always keep in mind, no matter how important an NPC is to the plot, no matter what you have planned in your head for them, no matter what plothooks they're part of... the players may not show any interest in them at all or actively dislike them and avoid them. Whatever you do, do NOT keep trying to shove that NPC in the player's faces, they WILL accuse you of railroading. Make a different NPC who serves the same narrative role if you have to.

Keep the story about the players, not the NPCs. I was recently in a game where the party was working for the king of empire and so much of the RP was about what a badass the King and his family was that us players started to feel like we really had no reason to be there. Like, he wasn't a GM self-insert or anything, but he had so much power and influence that us fucking up didn't really matter cos he'd just fix it somehow every time. There was no tension or fear of failure.

I know alot of people say not to let the NPCs overshadow the players, but the reverse is also true. The NPCs shouldn't all be helpless level 2 peasants that the players can kill without consequence. There should be NPCs that can kick the party's asses if they get on their bad side, especially if said NPCs are wealthy or important people who can afford body guards.

If an NPC is in the party, they should cover a role nobody else in the party can cover. If you've got a party full of melee fighters, for example, and you;re investigating ruins with magical traps... yeah, fine, let them ask the local mage's guild for one of their students as an escort.
That being said, never make this NPCs unique roll SO important that all decision-making and choice in the story falls to them. The players should always be the ones making decisions, until they CHOOSE to ask the NPC to do it.

If a player's character has a particular skill or hobby, thrown an NPC at them with similar interests, aspiring alchemist, smith, ect.. Player's like being mentors.

So let's make a Brain in a jar deck work. I'm thinking of a BUG control list, with breaking and entering, with maybe inkwell leviathan as the card it gets, who can be cast eventually as well. Monster Hunter works this way on a lot of hunts. Half the time something's gotten into a place where it can easily disrupt the native wildlife and needs to be taken out.

Sometimes there's a surplus of monsters and sometimes something non-native has shown up and if left for too long will cause lasting damage to the environment.

Smartest thing to do is to build the towns where the monsters aren't, or figure out how to ward away monsters. Monster Hunter has you smearing the village's wall with monster blood to ward them off.
