How effective is spell shrivel or negate against R/G Ramp? Like, If I Negate one of their Rampant Growths, does that theoretically buy me more than one turn?
And, because the ramp is usually for Ulamog, would Spell Shrivel be worth sideboarding, since they most likely won't have 4 mana up to cancel the counter?

I've recently gotten a hold of the 4e L5R book and fallen in love with the setting and system. I'm planning on running a game this month, but I'm getting stuck trying to set up the game. I figure that rather than coming up with a plot first I'll have my players build their characters and write a plot around them instead.
We're currently hashing out ideas but so far we have a crane bushi of the daidoji clan, a bushi from the dragon clan, and the uncle of the dragon samurai. We're all new to the setting, and we're having some trouble coming...

Strenghts:
>Oddball characters and general craziness. If other games try to be The Road or Left 4 Dead, PBTA is Mad Max and proud of it.
>"Cinematic". Like all VB games, it's made to give support to the action but never get on its way. No MUH REALISMS AND BALANCED PHYSICS here.

Barricade everything, make it as hard as possible and take as long as possible to get to the vault, and then we basically hold a Stalingrad in Victory City.
