>the legendary weapon that can harm the ancient evil is an axe, and all the heroes are swordfags with sizable investments in Weapon Master
>>47760994
Reforge the axe into a sword.
Where's the problem here?
>>47760994
Surprisingly, most fighters can cope with this, and most smart players didn't specialize in one weapon group.
So you play with idiots and fucked them over because you're a dickhead of a GM.

How would you run this game? Two gaming groups, taking turns?
Ever had a stereotypical jock/meathead at your table?
How well did he do?
>>47743576
FUKKEN NEERRRDDSSS
>>47743576
I am the stereotypical meathead
Not that he would ever join in but I can imagine him doing poorly and dropping out within 20 minutes
>the young nobleladies on the street tease your character for having hodgepodge, non-color-coordinated magic items looted from dead people and musty dungeons
>they flaunt their haute couture magic itemswhich are stronger in matched set
I swear to come back when I'm ready to out-bling each and every single one of them!
you only started the thread to post the picture
if you've got more, post it
if you don't, just fuck off
and everyone fucking hated item sets
I show them my dick.

What non-medieval fantasy stuff have you played/run in OSR systems recently?
>>47713976
I've been creating a simple post-apocalyptic OSR. So mostly been writing that, but haven't run anything yet.
Hey OSR, I'm preparing a sandbox and have been musing about DW's fronts for a while.
I'm thinking of stealing the idea to have some sort of organisational tool for developing factions and dangers on both a local and global scale.
Question is, does anyone know anything similar?
I want to see different takes on the idea that may help.
>>47714957
Fronts are general to a lot of the Powered by the Apocalypse games, so looking at others ones might help, in giving you other implementations of the same basic idea. In particular, I'd look at Apocalypse World and Sagas of the Icelanders to compare and contrast.
I definitely like the idea of using them in an OSR game. It's one of those things that really works nicely when adapted to other games.
Mashup edition
>what was your most successful game where you slapped together two different worlds/themes/settings?
Iron GURPS edition, you mean.
Camelot+Old West+Faerie. Gunknights, Six-Shooter Paladins, Seelie Shamans and Unseelie Witchdoctors, and Frontier Justice in the name of the King!
Are YOU brave enough to venture westward, past the Mississippi River, in search for the Holy Grail?

>Stargate + Space1888 = Victorian racist domination as the bad guys!
So I've got an upcoming game here this weekend; what does gurps General think of my "Desperado with a heart of gold"?
How would you handle a meta-trait being universal among a setting? Like say for example, EVERYONE is a robot, and would normally have the Machine meta-trait. Do you just apply the meta-trait to literally everyone, or is there a better way to do this?
Is there any particular reason /tg/-related companies can rip-off intellectual properties left and right without getting more lawsuits and losing ones than they can withstand?
>>47747366
Because most /tg/-related companies have less money to take in a lawsuit than the lawsuit would cost in the first place.
This is not an industry with a lot of cash in it for anybody but Wizards.
Because most fantasy myths come from cultures that have thousands of years of history. You can't trademark the concept of elves because that shit is as old as history.
>>47747392
Actually that doesn't necessarily matter. There are copyright laws in various countries that state if you fail to challenge copyright infringement then you're effectively giving it up. That's why big companies will go after even small shitty ones if their copyright is infringed. If you started to try to sell a Star Wars RPG out of your garage then Disney would be up your ass even if you only had a few hundred dollars to your name.
What personality do you give to a succubus/incubus so she/he is an interesting character, and not just fap/schlick bait?
>>47749832
If you have to ask this, it's too late.
>>47749832
huge tits
>>47749832
I fail to mention it's an incubus or succubus and focus more of the demon's description on the sheer amount of magical energy it has at it's disposal.
>It's a monster with small wings sticking out of her head
Do these serve a practical purpose?

Why did Uriah Olthaire didn't follow the emperor once he revealed himself. Was it because he saw in the emperor the inability to realize the imperfectness of man and thus it's need for faith? was it because he was just plain stubborn.
I have visited The Last Church, stuck one in my girlfriend while her mother took the tour. It's a placed named Lindesfarne. She's my wife now.
>>47752701
Because he knew that the Emperor was not a god.
Because he thought of the Emperor as just another warlord, who just happened to be a strong psyker.
The Emperor had a concrete plan on how to save humanity, albeit risky. But being the superhuman he is, it was impossible to rationally explain this to the priest.
How can I make members of the Church/Clergy/Holy people of different religions into the BBEGs without tipping fedoras?
>plural BBEG
I don't think you understand what a BBEG is.
>>47749519
Meant as in different runs and such.
>>47749498
I think you are over concerned about "tipping fedoras".
At the very least I don't see any reason to apply special rules to a BBEG from the clergy that do not also apply to a normal BBEG.

Any word on new theme lists? I'm looking to start a new army, think I'll go with Convergence. Gonna order a bunch of stuff in a couple weeks here and would like to have some corresponding units.
And this.
>spend half your starting gold on a wagon and mule
>GM destroys in in first session
Why?
>>47739842
Because you fuckwits weren't moving the plot forward, so conflict found you.
>>47739842
Because he is a shitty GM and can't adapt plot accordingly.
>>47739842
Been in the same position, we all started with family herlooms. I got a horse and a cart +full plate armor while the other got some kind of magical things like a weapon, potions or scrolls. We where 2 fighters in the party (AD&D 1e) where i got normal but expensive armor while the other got +2 Great-sword, (we played dragon lance so a full plate armor was as rare as a +2 sword and tha other fighter only had chainmail).
5 Sessions in a troll had eaten my horse, my cart had to been stolen and my plate armor...

So /tg/, how's your novel coming along?
>currently have well fleshed out alternate history timeline/setting as a different spin on WWII and the 1930s/40s world
>can't settle on how many characters to feature and what locations in the globe to have said characters
>>47737605
Awful. I love to write, but I'm horribly fickle. I have a lot of neat ideas, and I generally understand how to write a short story, but I'm never going to write an entire novel that isn't a pretentious pile of crap.
Writing it literally as I'm posting, actually. That's code for "I'm procrastinating on /tg/"
>>47737709
Do it anyway, man! We've got Perdido Street Station, it's not like pretentious means you can't make it.
Also, >Alt history WW2
