You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, commanding officer of the Seireitei's Ninth Division and current point of contact with the spiritual realm of Valhalla. What little diplomatic “pull” you may have with the locals however is insufficient to talk your way out of the current situation though: a mirror image of your companion Shihōin Yoruichi is thought to have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Valhallan soldiers just within the last few days, seemingly part of a wider rebellion that has destabilized the political order here.
Last night you also learned...

“You know you, too smart for that,” you admit, taking a bite of toast. And it's a fair point: if this copy has anything approaching your wife's intelligence, she'll refuse to be lured out easily where you can engage her. “We may have to wait for her to make the first move, then respond.”
“The Valhallans aren't going to like that,” Yoruichi observes. “Last time she made a move hundreds of their guys bought it.”
“I think our best shot is to hope that she really IS...

B.
The Spirelords launched purre fission nuclear warheads on most of the major cities in Eyerdar, Veita and Ocras - low radiation yield, but high explosive damage. There is tremendous destruction, particulary in Eyerdar.
The Spirelords had millions of robotic troops and thousands of human soldiers - most of their automatons are now destroyed and the remaining officers are fleeing towards ther headquarters in former NPU territory. How they will be recieved by the locals they ruled over for these past years is uncertain.

Would Steamshit be less insufferable if it just entirely dropped the Victorian shit altogether and tried to come up with an original style that more holistically incorporates the steam stuff?
>>47734794
It would be less unsufferable if it was a proper punk setting and dropped the fucking cogs too.
>>47734794
It would be cool if the incorporation of steam punk technology felt practical and utilitarian rather than just heavy jewelry with no purpose.
>>47734794
It would be less insufferable if it wasn't 100 times more concerned with the aesthetics than the actual technology and culture of the setting

What game has the best mechanics?
Since it got lost in the last thread, here it goes again,
2 questions about Demon.
1. Are Partial Transformations reflexive like full transformations?
2. Is the ability to spawn explosives with Eliminator Cannon an instant or reflexive action?
I got temp banned. I'll just follow it from then on when it expires. I will say I make a point to disregard rules that restrict me, but not everybody else. And if I'm in a position to, I retaliate when I'm punished for it. It isn't like bypassing a forum ban is difficult.

The five SM chapters that are being included are Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, and Blood Angels.
It's quite likely that the Smurfs will be the 'generic' option, with the other chapters taking the role of favours.
If I had to guess:
Imperial Fists = tankiness
DAngles = shootiness
Blood Angels = boarding
Space Wolves = gotta go fast
>no IN changes
what a shit fucking update

The devs said they're happy with IN. IN are going to stay shit forever.

Our group's D&D campaign is coming to an end soon, and I know our GM has his eye on us doing some L5R. I'm all up for it, but I'm not sure my friends will enjoy the more social and political side. Anyone had any experience with this, or arguments to sway them?
>>47686870
L5R doesn't have to be a political game. I actually suggest not involving the courts until the group is more experienced and has reason to be sent to one.
It can just as easily be about surviving the horrors of life on the wall, samurai drama over conflicts of Bushido, ronin band of brothers, magistrates hunting criminals, etc etc ... the setting provides room to do a lot.
Plus, the further away you are from high society, the less strict the setting is on requiring honour and glory.

Dunno about craziest or zaniest but the most recent one we had was we encountered this one asshole NPC who was trying to get the crowd on his side and paint us as the bad guys. Our caster was a diplomancer and nothing she did seemed to beat this guy, which was really frustrating for her. So in desperation she threw a dispel magic at him, figuring he had someone on that was making this so difficult. And then he turned into a young adult green dragon when his alter self was dispelled.
It was a pretty big WTF moment.
>Go semi pacifist non-lethal style
>Diplo captured enemies and try my best to work out our differences
>Some of them like me well enough and have nowhere else to go that they decide to live with the party
>Most of them are too poorly adjusted that they cant get jobs and reintegrate into society without significant time investment
>Before I realize it our base has dozens of enemies
>Eventually...

is there legal way to get to do actions after using dimension door
What is the origin of evil in your setting?
I feel like this is going to be true of most settings, but evil doesn't exist, and thus never began.
Unless you are going really fundamental. Evil wasn't a thing until the universe had division within it and thus 2 separate entities to disagree with each other about what actions are better to do.
Evil is a thing because everyone, the Gods included, have freedom of will, which equals them being able to choose between good and evil.
Nobody knows anything about the creator of the world, even the oldest being which is even older than the world.

So what character sheet do you use? I kinda like this one
What sort of situation might result in a human adventurer being asked to become a part of a Hidden Elf Village™? What do elves consider a great service?
Seems like it'd take more than fighting off some orcs.
>being asked to become a part of a Hidden Elf Village
not even once
>>47731244
>Fighting off some orcs
That might be all it takes if the orcs have control of the village and are in the process of some knife-eared ethinic cleansing when the party busts in and nukes the greenskins.
The question is why would a human party of adventurers want to stay in a such an easily conquered village?
>>47731282
Maybe adventure guy is getting long in the tooth. Dungeons are a young man's game, and his reflexes aren't what they used to be. Elf status: elf might lead to an unexpectedly happy retirement.
Thoughts on 13th Age?
I realize it's basically the equivalent of playing someone else's D&D house rules, but it looks like it does some pretty fun things overall. Has anyone run/played it and can comment?
