It's a beautiful day.
The sun is shining.
The birds are singing.
And some asshole is pounding on your door when you're trying to fucking sleep.
Honestly, it's been a long fucking night. You got two hours of sleep before work last night, ended up pulling a fourteen hour shift, and now? You just got comfortable under that third layer of blankets, right as the sun started coming up and now some jerk is knocking on your door.
Going to answer the door would mean leaving this lovely warm nest you've made for yourself, putting on actual clothes, and then glaring into submission whatever freak of nature decided that...
You squint at your phone, eyes not quite wanting to focus anymore. 0813 manages to swim into legibility, before you squeeze your eyes the rest of the way shut.
Kill self.
The way you see it, there's three options. One would be to wait for this fucker to just leave on his own. Another would be to try and shout him away from the comfort of your own bed, but that might let him know there's somebody actually IN the apartment.
Alternatively you could... try... to be a somewhat reasonable person and answer the door.
From there, you could decide whether or not to slam the door in their face, bite their head, or continue to put on your best impression of a sane but tired and extremely irritated person politely attempting to tell...

How would you do a Xenoblade campaign?
Mutants and Masterminds, possibly? One sheet for your pilot and another with a higher power level for your suit?

Everyone would be British, for starters.

What did I miss?
Been looking into tabletop games and I have some starter questions.
Where do I find a community.
What kind of games should I start at?
Simple beginner questions thread.
>>43816832
Mechanically simple games. If you want a simple starter fantasy game try DnD 5e. The rules for pretty much everything have been simplified.
Modern game systems - try World of Darkness. The dice pool system can be easily adapted for use in any modern setting, supernatural horror or not.
>Where do I find a community?
At a local gamestore or online forums/roll20.
What kind of games should I start at?
You could go D&D of any edition, I like 5e and 4e. GURPs can do gritty action (any anything really but I use it for action.) I also like All Flesh Must Be Eaten (Zombies.), Mouseguard RPG (mice), and Riddle of Steel.

Assuming you don't want to learn to game with your friends (which is what I did), you could try your local game store, which may have games that are run there, or at least "want adds" for games seeking players and so forth. Also, you try online. Though I don't remember having seen one in a while, there are periodic game finder threads on /tg/, or you could try over at roll20. I have, however, heard that folks you meet online tend to...

Hey /tg/. Might have seen my old game here floating around the board since last year (or not). Wanted to drop by and say that after a year of hiatus, I've updated the core game to include more content from the Fire Emblem series, including the shifting races of the Laguz and the Manaketes, and the Support system. It's also received a little cosmetic overhaul, going from bland to plastered in art from the series.
For those who don't know, Fire Emblem: The Tides of War is a system meant to recreate the Fire Emblem series in its entirety while balancing everything...

I have not seen this before, so going through from the start. Feel free to ignore any suggestions, because god damn on the whole this is actually pretty well adapted.
Bride in the ToC is not italicised, same with Great Knight
Archer seems more underpowered than any other class, which, while true to the game, is kinda unfair, maybe remove the -2def penalty? Sniper doesnt make up for it's early stages at all.

How would bike-riding speed scale as stats (in whatever system) went beyond human maximum? would it scale with strength? dex?
also bike cavalry should totally be a thing in post-apoc games, but that's kind of an aside
It could scale for either on bikes with the right gears.
Bike cavalry wouldn't really work (a bike makes a lousy platform to try and fight from), but bike DRAGOONS (in the original sense of "ride their mounts to get from point a to point b, dismount to fight") would be amazing.
>>43816129
>Speed
Scales with runspeed, maximum distance scales with Con.
>also bike cavalry should totally be a thing in post-apoc games
Quad bike yes. Regular bike no, can't brace properly.

Hi /tg/
So recently a friend wanted me to teach her to play MtG.What I need help with is figuring out a nice format/type of deck so I don't utterly shoo her out of the game with my lame tier-2 scrub crusher decks.
tl;dr:Tips&tricks to teaching MtG to a not-brainless person
Well she is a woman, so try to go as easy mode as possible.
Try to make you and her decks from those shitty cards u throw away after a draft or from packs you buy, as to even the playing field so she can't call shit OP, cause there literally garbage commons.
Also always let her go first, and free mullies, forever, I mean, she is a girl, she'll need them.
Give her a handicap as well, start with 10 life, and you cant play spells for the first 3 turns.
Best advice I can give, after all...
Start with a mix of creature and burn spells. Red Deck Wins They are an easy to teach the game.
>>43815737
it's sexist if you go easy on her
it's also extremely sexist if you beat her at the game
i think it might be best to just segregate yourself, desu senpai
I'm designing an order of paladins derived fromfarmersthat were forced to fight enemies while working the fields for food.
I'm thinking of giving these paladins an assortment of weapons derived from farming tools, like scythes or sickles, but I dunno what weapon could be akin to a hoe or a shovel. Ideas?
>>43815612
A spear?
There's also a weapon literally called a spade out there, Dual purpose gravedigging tool and grave prevention device.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monk%27s_spade
A shovel by itself is actually a very good weapon. Able to inflict blunt or slicing damage depending on how its weilded, and after everything's done you can use it to cut up the body and bury it,

16, after Lorwyn block. It wasn't a bad set, but the game just didn't have the same appeal- it was too much of a money sink, and I started getting into girls and booze instead.

This is a bad bait/troll thread...and you're posting in it. Get it together friend,
I've been running Shadowrun off and on for the last year but I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not really into the decking aspect.
I'm thinking of starting a new game in a new system, but I've got a lot of systems I'd like to try out and was wondering how other people choose the next system they'll play/run.
Bonus: Are there any decent modern fantasy systems out there? d20 modern holds no interest for me, and I hear Dresden Files is terribly unbalanced.
inb4 "just pick one, faggot"
It really comes down to just reading through a bunch of rulebooks that have some sort of connection to something you find interesting.
Feeling like a bit of a star wars binge? Give those new fantasy flight books a flick.
Been watching true detective lately and got a hankering for that. Take a glance at Call of Cthulhu.
It comes down to browsing

I know you're probably sick of this, but GURPS seems to do modern fantasy fairly well.
I feel like a right shithead saying this, but have you considered GURPS?
It's not perfect; it's hard to make a relevant character first time, some of the splats are pointlessly complicated, it's hard to find what you precisely need in the mountain of available material, the 'generic' aspect is sometimes very generic, and if your players are slow in the head they will find it difficult to add 3d6 together and apply a modifier.
However, you've been playing Shadowrun, so your players are used to dealing with fairly large amounts of dice.
The...

Not much else could describe the state of the universe. Centuries have passed since the last Galactic war, and the result was simply a void of chaos. Individual Planet-States rose and fell daily, regimes took power and lost it, entire civilizations were lost without so much as a glance to their downfall. No great power holds the sectors together, Hutt Cartels rule the space lanes, and ‘war’ is no longer regarded as anything but daily life to the lower classes.

The light thud of the ship’s landing knocked you out of your thoughts, your subordinates scrambled to get organized as the cargo bay opens, streaming out in 4 lines of 5 the soldiers jog out, you following behind with an ominous knot in your gut. Before you is a seemingly endless line of ruined stone edifices, designs apparently etched into their surfaces but worn to the point of being indecipherable.
But what truly peaked your interests are the three monoliths the ship originally located, previously unregistered...
