Why don't imperial guard have better walkers like this?
Because they need big scary walkers, not efficient walkers.
Because GW couldn't handle the amount of anal devastation that Disney lawyers would inflict on them

But I agree, their is a definitive lack of non bipedal walker.
So here's a question.
What's the difference between adding a fetish when wordlbuilding and actually justifying it.
Versus
Adding a fetish into worldbuilding and THINKING you justify it but it's even worse(Monster Girl Quest)
>Pic unrelated/kinda related?
>>43821052
The former is what happens in reality. Look around us, even look at yourself. Naturally there's occurring fetishes because, whaddyaknow, they're inbuilt into us so we breed. The fact people breed, become pregnant and otherwise is a fetish. Attraction itself is a fetish. There's very little you can do to NOT put a fetish in your worldbuilding
The difference is largely intent and direction.
The former is a myth, because anytime you try to "add a fetish and actually justify it", you inevitably end up just thinking you justify it.
The only way a fetish winds up in a game and it isn't horribly forced is when it happens as a side effect, an accidental inclusion. Instead of thinking "I want to insert a succubus into my game because that's my fetish, how do I make it work?", the original thought process would need to be "I want the powerful knight my players are acquainted with to be receiving bad advice from a corrupting influence, is there a good monster for that?" With that as the original thought process, you might even discover that your fetish simply isn't the best answer for your intended goal.
In the end, it's not always "necessary" to justify your fetishes. Some groups are fine with Magical Realm. But, the bottom line is that if you are trying to justify inserting your fetishes into a game, you will inevitably only be thinking you are justifying them.
>>43821239
I think that it's mostly a matter of what part of the fetish or kink you try to add as worldbuilding.
For example, let's add foot fetish. You can either have a race or such that focuses on the fetish part, or you can have it simply be a barefoot race. Okay, now think. WHY are they barefoot. Is it cuz it's their attraction and nothing else? Then you failed at worldbuilding.
If it is because it allows them to better feel connection to earth, to balance better on small surfaces, or perhaps they are kickboxers or something like that? Okay, that's good.
That actually provides reasons for feet being important, but to be less obvious, focus on legs in general. Now, think of why they are focused on balancing, monk stuff or any such thing. Why would they value legs as important? It could be because of the race or such being seen as travellers, Runners like from Mirror's Edge, any such thing.
Now, you can just add, as a side thought, that strong legs is the definining factor of their courting rituals or traditions. If it is a Race of Mirror's edge runners, then obviously they would see it as good factor.
It really matters, like I said, what part of the fetish you try to add and how you do it. It's different if you try to make the whole thing revolve around the FETISH part, instead of what the fetish itself is about. It's different if you focus on sexual stuff with the things in question than simply the things.
You are Siris Erickson, and you are a mutant. This is hardly surprising, considering both of your parents are mutants, and you grew up surrounded by mutants. Despite being somewhat of a late bloomer with your powers, the leaders of the Xavier Institute saw incredible potential in you and your abilities. With the ability to control the wavelength and frequency of light, as well as emit light from your body, you could theoretically do incredible things, although that is currently limited to a limited control over the light in the surrounding area and the ability to concentrate light into a laser. Both of which tend to give you painful headaches, and you can only do those with the help of a specially created suit. You were accepted into the Xavier Institute mid-year despite the late arrival of your powers, and you have been accepted into the Paragons squad.

Behind every village raid, every disease, every lich uprising, ever dragon master plan, there is the Banking Conglomerate. They owe no allegiance to any government, deem all life expendable (if profit magins drop too much) and have even most of gods somehow indebted. They keep a firm grip on all relevant heroes and even employ highest INT creatures to to debate with LG characters up to a point that paladins of LG religions are forced to join the might of the banks.
All the while they reamain anonymous and entertain the masses with zombie infestations, orc invasions, goblin migrations and an occasional "corrupt noble".
How is that for a BBEG?
>>43820615
So basicaly your BBEG is Israel? Also why would gods need a bank?
>>43820615
The idea of the vast pan-dimensional conspiracy being a bank or some other mundane but resented organization scaled to an appropriate size is amusing, but I don't know that it would work that well outside of a joke.

What's the longest/most detailed back story you've written for a character? My previous was a 5 page back story for a WoW RPG campaign with a Troll Warrior, but now I'm on page 10+ diary for a character I've had ideas about for a while in 5e.
I probably won't even get to play her ever though.
I've literally never written a backstory longer than a few paragraphs. When you're playing a tabletop game, the point of the game is to have the story happen DURING the game, not before it. Nobody wants to read through a bunch of stuff that happened before the game and didn't even involve their character or the rest of the party.
>>43819820
You'd be surprised, a good few of my previous GMs required a back story of at least 3 pages. I'm more of a dungeon crawl person, so that was tedious, glad some other GMs only wanted a sentence, if that.
>>43819820
Mhm, the most I've written would have to be a page or two. That was only because I was sharing a backstory with another member of the party.
Alright, so I want to build some kind of retrowave game. I'm still struggling with what system to use - I figure something fast and loose. Storyteller system seemed interesting but I think I can do better.
But I also want to know what /tg/ would think are essential elements of a retrowave/futurism game. Slick car chases? Foggy nights? What kind of characters would be interesting to see or play as in such a setting? I want all your ideas.
Here, I'll set the mood for you.

How do I begin a campaign avoiding tavern memes and associates?
>>43819234
Try starting the game with the party meeting at an Inn
use the naked dungeon meme
>your characters find themselves chained to the walls of a damp, and dark dungeon cell.
erase your inventory.
I don't get the backlash against the tavern opening. The tavern, inn, coaching house, or what have you is THE perfect place for strange to meet. Everyone needs to eat/sleep, and if all of the PCs are strangers to each other the tavern/inn is a place where social interaction can be lubricates or forced. Moreover.it's where you would logically be before setting out on or finishing a journey. So what is the fucking problem, its too mainstream for hipsters?

Cast every detect and check you have on that thing. You should know it's social security number, bank statements, if it take it's coffee with two sugars or three, and it's music taste long before you even sneeze in it's direction, let alone go up and touch the thing.

Lunar edition. Anyone playing a Lunar? How are Lunars used in your game? Anyone found their Lunar/Solar Mate?

I'm not playing a Lunar right now because they're not in 3E yet, and I don't want to go back to 1E/2E.
That said, I want to be a badger totem lunar based on Guts from Berserk.
