So I've been looking at some 40k art recently and a question popped up.
What the fuck are the tubes going into the face/head for?! A lot of people just have them and there only purpose is to fuck their shit up from what I can tell.

What would you say is the most broken RP system? The one with the most loop-holes, game breaking interactions or obscure abusable rules? From what I've heard, D&D 3.5e seems to be the main one but that only get broken when you go through all the supplements, so I was wondering if there's one that utterly breaks sooner.
>>47966655
The most unbalanced and broken book of 3.5 is Core. Splats are actually more balanced.
>>47966655
I don't think dnd is nearly as broken as people seem to want it to be. It is still pretty broken though, but it doesn't come close to some games.
Palladium is the absolute worst broken, insane mess of rules and lore.
D&D 3.5 isn't really broken. It suffers from caster supremacy and it CAN be broken, but really its the divergent rules systems that hurt it most, and feat chains.
I still prefer it to 5e because of the options.
An alliance between 3.5 and 5e would be the most powerful game system ever to exist. It would rape every previous edition except maybe AD&D.
5e is nothing like AD&D, it has too much class feature bullshit to even come close.
Solving a dice
okay, so from this thread
>>47962039
I've decided to try and figure out what possible shape dexter's dice could take if it were 3-D
now I've cut out the shapes we can see, paint is horrible at making shapes by the way, and the dice isn't symmetrical, or if it is, it's curved in some way
so what could be used to fill the gap? the dice has a range from at least 2, to 49

Sup /tg/. I'm looking for a specific picture of a Drow Female. She's got very long hair, and is fully armoured. There's a long, flowing red cloak and she's got some damn shapely covered thighs. The best way to describe it is a pout. I think she might also have a mace or something but I can't really remember.

Nah, that can't be what OP's talking about, the cape isn't red.
Fucking sweet shield, though!

Sorry, felt I should actually show up (in the hour-thirty or so I have before I vanish again), to apologize for the lack of updates on the All Guardsmen Party.
The short of it is that the company I work for got bought by MTY, and since I'm no longer in a situation where I can easily go a few months unemployed, I'm currently flying up to Canada to apply for my own job.
I've got an hour and a half here, and maybe some time in the morning if I take a break from cramming, to grovel for forgiveness, talk about the past or upcoming antics of the group, do one-off writefaggotry requests, or whatever..

Daily reminder if it werent for Twilight we wouldnt have had the greatest set in MTG history.
Honestly Twilight is still one of the biggest disappointments for me, just because it has all the worldbuilding ingredients to base a fucking awesome story off of but instead they chose to do a shitty romance.

Our last campaign had 2
my first character was a 4e dragonborn paladin.
I was one of the kids in elementary school who was not allowed to play Pokemon, because my parents thought that I would get addicted and beg them for cards all the time.
Well, fastforward to now and I am currently getting into Magic, and loving it. However, I also notice that Pokemon is still around and in production after all of these years, which is kind of shocking.
Do people still play the Pokemon card game as much as other card games such as Magic and maybe Yugioh? Is there a modern scene for Pokemon or is it mostly made up of little kids and nostalgiafags?
>>47961530
Oh people still play Pokemon, and yes there ARE a lot of nostalgiafags and kids that play it too.
However, the game has far more problems than just the people. Your card is an example of a basic Pokemon in 1999. Pic related is an example of a """""""""basic""""""""""" pokemon nowadays.
Power creep is out of fucking control in Pokemon. And it is what drives prices and sales, mostly to kids. So eh i personally would not bother with it.
>>47961811
This is patently false. Sure it's "power creeped" from fucking 1999, but has found an equilibrium. Many of the decks from HGSS, and Black/White would fare fine in today's meta with minor tweaks. The biggest problem and money sink is the rotation.
I recently looked into it at only found two changes to the old rules. Confusion deals 30 instead of 20 and when your opponent does not have any basic Pokemon you (may) draw 1 extra card each time they redraw instead of 2.
Stat us, /tg/.

What system? Personally, i'd use Feng Shui, just because Battlechimp Potemkin is a named character in that setting.
He's a cybernetically augmented war gorilla.
What systems have good concise ways of discerning your character's physiological traits? Not randomly, but actually based on statistical factors like their abilities/attributes, height, weight, race, etc?
GURPS has such a system, D&D 3E too (though mostly based on race alone), but both will often slate you with a 5' nothing 140lbs+ person that is supposedly capable of heroic-tier feats of celerity (no magic involved).
Other gamesF.A.T.A.Lhave it all but randomized. Your stats may factor in, but the amount of d6s or whatever rolled means they've only the smallest of impacts.

Eclipse Phase.
Dungeon World
It's pretty much objectively one of the best currently out there. It has fast easy to use mechsnics and is perfect for beginners, it's a lot cheaper than most of these other rules bloated systems that cost fifty dollars. There is no reason for extra rules when it is he role playing that matters. Dungeon World is fast and innovative and still feels exactly like the spirit of ADND before DnD 3.5 destroyed the hobby and ruined a generation of role players.
>>47965960
Doesn't EP base it like 99% on what sort of [mold? frame?] you chose?
>>47966929
I feel like this post is a really poor joke.
'Sup /tg/. I was wondering if any of you had a character you got very fond of, in a game with a shitty GM that left them with a shitty ending. I'll share my story. I'm not a native speaker so I might make some mistakes.
It was quite some years ago, I was 15 or 16 (I'm 21 now), and we were playing D&D 3.5 with an high level campaign. Since we had a lot of handbooks available, and I wanted to try something more "cool" than optimized, I rolled an Sorcerer/Abjurant Champion Incubus. Not a third party race or anything, I used Savage Species and made him with racial levels. Which left him pretty unoptimized, except for his absurd stats (28 CHA without magic items isn't bad, I guess)
This story involves, in a way, a "redeemed" incubus, so hold on your undies, /tg/, and don't lynch me, if you can. He was Chaotic Evil, first of all. A little more Chaotic than Evil. He was high-leveled, and got bored of his eternal life of literally fucking around. So he steals from an house where he was "making Cambions" and finds a book about heroes and adventurers. After reading it, he finds it "cool" and decides to travel to the Material Plane to roleplay as an hero for fun.
Now. This master was VERY shitty, and wanted to ruin characters from the beginning. First thing that happened to my character? A fucking demigod forces him to marry his daughter after he flirts with her. He was level 30 or something, I don't want to remember. So my character is stuck with an unwanted wife that he had to carry around with a constant Interdiction to Death casted on. You know, energy drain.
He got pretty fond of his wifey, anyway, (because an hero is supposed to have a tragic and cool love story) and spent a lot of his gold to buy a magical item that let him on/off his energy drain.
So. One of my best friends made a Human Fighter/Kensai with a magical halberd. Lawful Neutral, fairly cool, and acted as the straight man. Since he had that "cool" aura, my pc got interested in him as a "fellow hero".

>>47961080
>Didn't even prewrite or greentext summarize his shitty 3.5 story
Don't bother finishing. Here's the advice though: your DM sounds terrible and there's no reconning that.
>>47961080 (OP)
So. Since the kensai had no issues with my pc, they actually became friends and had a pretty tight bond. The kensai acted as the straight man, while my character was, in a way, the comic relief, trying so hard to "be an hero" and badly failing.
We traveled around fucking around with some Far Realm involved aberrations, and eventually "space traveling" because the GM recently discovered Asimov and didn't understand the concept of "plane". I told him to try and adapt Spelljammer, but he didn't listen.
Eventually we ended up fighting some demon lord which slayed mr. father-in-law/demigod and eventually my pc's wife. Then, when my character calmly casted "Trap the Soul" to get her back and eventually reincarnate her, he didn't say something like "the demon ate it" or "it was torn and destroyed". No. It melted in plasma. I shit not, he said that. And there I said, dumbfounded, "what plasma?".
"If you rolled Spot, you would have seen that the pool on your right is full of plasma."
We gazed upon him with a thousand years of confusion in our eyes. A pool of plasma. A POOL. OF PLASMA. WHICH MELTS SOULS.
And that isn't even the end of it. After the demon, he wanted a futuristic ending in a spaceship with a fungus-like Elder God mocking us while we crashed in a planet for some reason. So, well, we died. Kensai excluded, since he wasn't in the spaceship. So, there I said "well, I guess my character's soul will get back in the Abyss". But no. Because the place we got was so far in space that "the soul would need a thousand years to get back to the Abyss". And there the campaign ended. But I wasn't satisfied.

Sorry, I got back home recently and thought of this story that I wanted to share. Didn't think much about the how. You're kinda right, but I want to end it, even though nobody will read it. Also I kinda dislike greentext.
>>47961411
Since I wasn't happy with that ending, I talked about it with my friends, and since it was profoundly dumb and I got fond of my stupid special OC, we decided that in the end he got back from the Abyss, paid for the resurrection of the others, and ended up becoming the Kensai's family's guardian, training his descendants in the years. Nothing special, really, but I wanted a better ending for them. I also was sixteen and very prone to angst, like every sixteen years old. And that's the end of my shitty 3.5 story.
Is Mage Wars any good?
>>47961016
Mage Wars is the best dueling wizards card game you could possibly play.
The mechanic of having your entire deck available to you and picking two spells at the start (for Arena) or when needed (for academy) make far more sense than a random card draw from a thematic standpoint.
The base game will keep you playing for a good long while, but the expansions are universally well done with the absolute weakest being Conquest of Kilimanjaro (and even that one was okay).
It is hard to get into and most people won't take the time to learn it though.
Academy is a good introduction to the concepts and offers plenty of quick play sessions, however, when compared to Arena or Battlegrounds it is super simplistic and off putting to many Mage Wars veterans because it gets rid of movement, zone control, building walls, and a whole spell class.
That said Academy does offer a lot of the feel of the same game, faster play, lower damage numbers, and all in all a newbie friendly experience. It also helps that the cards from Academy CAN be used in Arena but not vice versa.
Rolling dice for damage and effects is off putting to many people though, so be advised that they exist.
>>47961016
I have everything for Mage Wars Arena that's out so far except Forcemaster v Warlord and the Spell Tomes. It's an awesome game with crazy fucking depth.
>>47961016
The only issue I've encountered is lack of serious opponents.
It's always me lending premade decks to my filthy casual friends and going easy on them while they grasp the mechanics.
My friend had been coming up with all these ideas for his fanfic that he might run as an AdEva game for his meatspace friends and he's been telling me all about Evangelion's DEEPEST LORE and its honestly getting to me. I keep getting ideas for an old Adeptus Evangelion game I ran for a few sessions before it fell apart.
I'd probably take a few of the elements of NGE and make up the rest. I don't know a good system for it, though, since AdEva sucks balls.
There's so many interesting elements of NGE that only come from wild mass guessing by nerds on the EvaGeeks site and stupid barely translated PSP games.
Pros: Fukken AT-fields
Cons: LIBERA TUTEMET EX INFERNIS!
...or something like that
What's wrong with AdEva?
>>47960975
Evangelion has no deep lore
All christian myths and references were used explicitly because the team thought they would look cool and sell well

Personally I've always wanted to see a cave-man setting with super heroes. It's the stone age and people start developing super powers. Maybe there are even kaiju dinosaurs and super powered homo erectus and neanderthal?
Geeze, these threads usually don't just die like this. I wonder what's wrong?

well without cape world to talk about and ignite everyone's creativity, these treads just barely make it though the week.
