Hello everyone! Let's start a civilization.
First we need 3 votes for the race and location.
Let's get ourselves some Centaur.
In the desert.
>>44448149
1 for centaurs in the desert.
I don't think I've seen that combo before.
>>44448201
I've seen it. But that was on /b/. And years and years ago. Though, looking at faun, it might be even better that way.
Just a hint: Make sure there are really noteworthy characters. And I'll be happy. Just want me some nomadic civ.
Imperium forcefully annexes human worlds
Tau forcefully annex alien worlds and threat other races as second class citizens
Wow such a good hearted faction that doesn't fit the universe at all.
Face it you only hate on them because you want to fit in and the meme started in the first place because some people were butthurt after getting rekt by Tau players.
Poor b8 m8
>>44447780
Wow op you're pretty spot on
>>44447780
>Okay, Gue'vesa, you're now apart of the Tau Empire in the service of the Greater Good. We'll get you set up in a caste in no time.
>Alright, how can I serve you until then?
>What? Serve me? No, Gue'vesa, we're all equals here. Well, except the Ethereals, but I never said that.
>Equals? I'm sorry, I've never done that before. Just tell me what to do.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Is there any other Chaos Lord who is anywhere near as charismatic, eloquent and stylish as Eliphas?
>>44446476
Marduk, also a Word Bearer?
Bitch please
>>44446476
ELIPHAS! YOU TRAITOR SCUM, THE LASH OF THE BLACK LEGION SHALL TEAR YOUR FLESH APART!
Imagine you had a player who wanted to play a character like pic related. If there's a corrupt noble and he outnumbers the PCs ten to one, if he's an almighty lich, whatever - if he's being a bad guy, bad guys get punched and that's all there is to it. No strategising (though he wouldn't necessarily interfere with others doing so), no equivocation: just straight in, head-on attacking the villains and protecting his party no matter what.
Would this be annoying to you? Would you let them die in vain? Would you give them plot armour? Would you go...

>>44446384
It wouldn't be annoying on it's own, but it depends on how well or poorly the player handles it. No plot armor, ever, but I wouldn't go out of my way to kill them.
>>44446384
>implying that's not how all the players behave at all times
>>44446384
I have the enemies attack.
The dice will fall where they may. I always give my players the information they need/ask for and if they misuse it, they only have themselves blame for it.
I don't pull any punches.
Hey /tg/, friends and I are considering starting up a Shadowrun game. At the moment who shall DM is up in the air but it'll probably be me. Anywho, does anyone have any advice for DMing, characters or just the system in general?
>>44445968
Shadowrun is a convoluted system, so make sure you read and understood the rules before going in.
You might want to dedicate the first session to play the quick-start with pre-gen characters, just to let everyone have a taste for the system.
Afterwards, start slow with only the core rulebook and only add to it at a later point.
>>44446427
It seemed alright, at least the main mechanic seemed fine. I can see what you mean with the priority and skills and such. I was making a test character (May play if not DM) and I wanted to make a sneakthief kinda guy, not too good with combat, but always knows a guy, has a plan, or can macguyver his way out of situations. Any must have skills for that? I went full skillmonkey but yeah, help is apprectiated.
>Playing Shadowrun
You will want to invest in one of these ASAP.

Who's going to come out on top in the Octarius war and what does it mean for the Galaxy.
>>44445659
Orcs
T. Nid hater
>>44445659
>Who's going to come out on top
Helbrecht and Yarrick
>what does it mean for the Galaxy.
Fuck xenos.
Didn't shit get so real on Octarius that Imperial, Eldar and Necron elements got involved?
What's a system that can fin only a few sheets or paper with character sheets I could fit on index cards? I'm sure I could even use a stopwatch function for a d10 subsitute. I want something I could keep in my purse and just break out to do with friends without preparation. Like for a long boring car ride, to give an example.
inb4 GURPS
Pic unrelated.
>>44445406
GURPS. No, really. There's a version of GURPS which you can fit in you wallet.
Or Risus.
>>44445632
Well I just got BTFO in kinda the best way, didn't I? That looks pretty usable. Thanks, anon.
I had actually just remembered Cthulu Dark, but this is obviously more versatile.
So, I have a game in mind to run and I'd like to air this idea here on /tg/ since I'll probably recruit my players here. Now, be warned before you continue to read this post; It is an idea with heavy sexual themes, or to put in simple and inacurrate words, a 'fetish game'. You can hide the thread or ignore it as you feel like it.
Now if you decided to read on, here's the idea:
I want a game with high lethality and difficult combat were the consequences for being defeated are severe ranging from losing all gear, to being raped or killed....

Is it a high lethality chess game?

We did, and now we're lost.
Should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque.

Oversaturation, excessive extreme waifuism and spamming.
Or are we talking more general in which case
Too trusting, depression and anxiety.
So, the MIRRION DORRAR kickstarter was two years ago.
Is this thing going anywhere? Serious question, I've heard nothing about it since then.

>trusting kickstarter
>trusting paizo
Oh no, like hell I give my money to that. I just want to keep informed on things.
>killed by traditional games
how can we make this happen?
crushed to death by a stack of books?
diabeetus
>>44443720
>Death by glue fumes
>Death by paint fumes
>Crushed by GURPS
>Impaled by minis
>Papercut while reading a rulebook
>Aneurysm when looking at the slightest change to favoured system
>Sweat to death trapped in oversized LARP gear
That feel when the most hyped online game on earth is populated almost exclusively by MUD players and tabletop gamers.
I get a semi just thinking of those times.
>>44443541
That doesn't describe WoW at all.
>>44443634
That feel when the most hyped online game on earth is populated almost exclusively by Chinese slaves and Blizzard drones.
Better now?
>>44443634
WoW is casual garbage. In UO's prime it was the people who broke character who were the weirdos. It was a golden age. This was closely followed by the golden age of mmo griefing which I personally didn't mind since the world was so brutal and unpredictable.

I love the setting and I've realized that I hate the game. The problem is that I have made a lot of great friends over the past 5 years that I've been playing.
In that time I've seen people that have left the game too. In every case, they no longer hang out with us in any form. It's almost like 40k was the glue that bound them to us.
How do I drop the game without fading away from my 40k friends?
Side question. How do I 40k without 40king?
>>44443023
Simple: Keep in touch. Give 'em a phone call. Go watch them play, just for the social part of it. Hang out, have a beer together, suck their dicks, shit like that.
Get into the wargame. Try GMing. And this >>44443052
too.
>>44443023
Do modeling instead maybe. Offer to paint your freinds minis. This way you'll still be important to their gaming, everyone likes well painted models, without playing the game.
Alternatively either GM or fond a GM for a 40k rpg. This one will take some scheming. You'll have to get the most charasmatic person on board or spring the suggestion when everyone is just bored enough to try something new.
How do people not complain about how fucking stupid the Emperor is?!
He is all knowing and has abilities we don't even know. He knows his sons INSIDE OUT. Yet he:
>Gets Rus to destroy Magnus for TRYING TO WARN the emperor, making one less legion to defend Terra and resulting in a chaos legion of one of the most powerful legions out there.
> Fucking pushes Lorgar to his limits, and humiliates him and destroys his most beloved World. He should have known that there would have been consequences.
No...

buummp
People complain about it all the time. The writing is bad. You can handwave it by saying that everything is from in universe perspective where the emperor basically glamours everyone into thinking he's right all the time with psychic energy, but isn't right all the time.
But motherfuckers complain about this a lot. Its like they believe the in universe propaganda, and then get mad when its not true.
>>44442952
Horus changed Rus 's orders etc
And anyway - it's like a Jesus thing, the bible suggests he knew he was going to crucified but that was necessary
Think about it the imperium is now based on a religion of self sacrifice for the greater good - anathema to the chaos 4 as they are all selfish emotions- lust ambition despair hate
