8ED and 9ED should be banned Edition
Saying "go back to Standard/Hearthstone" is not an argument to support these monstrosities. These cards are very poor game design and are toxic for this format by punishing entire colors and color combinations.
>>44577816
go back to standard/hearthstone
"I'm bad edition" is a better title
Ban Summer's Bloom and be done with it

Reminder 8ED features Summer Bloom
Reminder 8ED features Choke
Reminder 8ED features Boil
Reminder 8ED features Ensnaring Bridge
Reminder 9ED features Blood Moon
Reminder 9ED features Boiling Seas

Reminder these cards are the #1 reason fair decks are struggling right now (the fair decks have instant game over cards while needing to fight to win).

You monster.
>>44575116
Rise is a stain on the name of Gemini.
You are Siris Erickson, and you are a mutant. This is hardly surprising, considering both of your parents are mutants, and you grew up surrounded by mutants. Despite being somewhat of a late bloomer with your powers, the leaders of the Xavier Institute saw incredible potential in you and your abilities. With the ability to control the wavelength and frequency of light, as well as emit light from your body, you could theoretically do incredible things, although that is currently limited to a limited control over the light in the surrounding area and the ability to concentrate light into a laser. Both of which tend to give you painful headaches, and you can only do those with the help of a specially created suit. You were accepted into the Xavier Institute mid-year despite the late arrival of your powers, and you have been accepted into the Paragons squad.

Your brother, Lewis has gotten wrapped up in some bad stuff. For a while, he’s been selling some new drug called Toad Juice for Frankie Zapruder, all while dating the daughter of Zapruder’s rival, Daniel Kaufman. Recently, he’s gone missing, all while Kaufman started selling Toad Juice. You and your squad headed for Mutant Town to search for the truth of what happened to your brother. Currently, you’re making your way into Zapruder’s turf to try and get answers.
>>44573235
You want to say more to Pixie, but you’re cut off by the sudden shout from Guido, “Get down!” You and your squad dive for cover as a car pulls up, and a man leans out the window with a gun, firing a few shots at you. He’s cut off, however, as Guido charges through the gunfire and slams into the car, tipping it onto it’s side. He rips both the driver and the gunman from the car, tossing them over to where you and your squad are. He steps away from the burning wreckage, giving you a grin. “You’d think at some point the bad guys would stop shooting at the big buff guy.”
After a little bit, you, Guido, and Match manage to get your attackers set up in an alley out of view where you can ask them questions. They both seem loyal enough not to talk right away, although you’re sure with a bit of convincing you can make them talk. As Guido looms over the two, making sure they don’t try to run, Match approaches you. “Yo, Siris, uh... I was thinking. You know how in movies, they have a good cop and a bad cop? I think we should do that too.”

~You are Sigmund Wagner, sole survivor of the Ulvenacht which left your village a charnel house. You alone were spared death by the hand of Lector Gwynneau Tylmarine, a Paladin and master of the stronghold known as The Castle of Bells. She took you under her protection and brought you to her home to give you an opportunity at a life that you would have otherwise lost to the horrors of the night. ~

The triumph over the fae fresh on your mind as you awaken from your sleep; you stretch, do your morning routine, clean your armor then dress for the day. The castle of Lord Knight Olondre is welcoming as it has been this past week, and you are treated to a very enjoyable breakfast. The master of the house joins you, his face rejuvenated with youthful joy.
"Your Honor," Olondre says as he gestures the fork towards you with a smile, "it has been a true pleasure working with you this past week. Without your timely arrival I am not certain help would have arrived in time to spare my castle." You nod and tell him that it was no problem and that you were happy to help.
The man takes a long drink from his tankard and lets out a pleased sigh, "So! Are you destined for the road beyond my castle, or would you be willing to spend some more time here? Perhaps join me on a hunt? I am eager to enjoy the newly restored forest."

What kind of an exotic society system I could use for my elves?
>>44570318
As orc slavers
>>44570318
aztechs
>>44570318
Matriarchal monotheistic theocracy loosely based on the 7 Noahide laws. Interpretations and later additions have been the basis for a hundred differnet religious order all scheming for dominance. Due to an ancient agreement the military is mostly made up of orcs from the coastal cities of their mostly desert nation.
The orc fucking love the arrangement.
Traditionally the Sun Empress has to be married to the Warrior-King of the orcs.
This also makes the whole hierarchy shuffle around drastically as orcs and elves can't produce children together so every succession is uncertain. Civil wars are not all that common as the Orcs make up almost all the army and a won't use weapons on each other. They prefer to make settle disputes in a fighting put with bare knuckle boxing.
The remnants/results of the previous empire are still out there wandering the sands. They were a cruel and vicious society. They made pacts with devils and spawned from forbidden unions a race of tieflings.
The tieflings are quite happy as nomads and wandering traders. Every so often one of the pre-exile nutters or idiot youth tries to rally everyone with the dream of taking back their homeland. The more sensible elders take no heed of them.
The first thing you notice when you regain consciousness is the pounding headache in your skull, and the god-awful wailing that’s only making it worse. It takes you a few moments to figure out that it isn’t someone screaming their head off, but the sound of a klaxon alarm blaring incessantly.
After groping blindly for the snooze button of your alarm clock, you quickly come to the conclusion that from the cold, metallic feel of the surface you’re lying on, you’re most certainly not waking up in your own house and on your own mattress.
You rapidly sit up, slowly massaging the fatigue out of your head as you try to puzzle out what the hell is going on. Your body feels heavy and sluggish, as if you’d been asleep for a long time. At least, that’s what it felt like. You’re positively sure that it wasn’t normal to wake up feeling like this.
It only takes a few moments for the blur to fade away and your vision to sharpen to decipherable levels. You find yourself in what appears to be some sort of medical facility, judging from the tools scattered around the room and the faded anatomy posters on the walls. The overhead lights have completely gone out, with only the faint illumination of emergency lighting the only way you’re able to see in the room.
You’ve seen enough horror movies to know that this is never a good scenario to wake up in.
There’s a mirror sitting adjacent to the table you’re lying on. You pull yourself closer to it, gripping the edge of the counter for support as the numbness in your body begins to fade away. Squinting carefully, the image you see in the reflecting surface is that…

“Quissonce, get over here so I can kiss you.” Gabby shouts from between you and Dolah after the post-firework clapping dies down. Quissonce sighs from where she stands, further towards the center of the slowly dispersing crowd, safely out of Gabby's reach.
“You already kissed me.” Quissonce informs Gabby. “Twice.”
Gabby gives a lascivious laugh. “Yeah, but this time I'm gonna use tongue.” Gabby continues laughing throughout and past Quissonce's scoffing. “Come on! Kissing someone on New Years is tradition! So pucker the fuck up because I'm coming over there.” Gabby immediately fails to live up to her words as her drunken struggle against the two of you holding her back halts any forward movement she was aiming to accomplish. She chuckles at her own ineptitude, before giving up.
>Gabby, it's time for you to go to bed

You watch as your brother walks off, a strange sense of tension in the air. Chi-chi runs after him as Goku rubs the back of his head. "Is he okay? Something about that seemed-"
"You should concern yourself with the task at hand, Son Goku." Aza tells him, a falsely pleasant smile on his face. He then turns to you, eyes strangely piercing. "Besides, it's probably something you should worry about more, Maple."
"Is that so?" you question, crossing your arms.
The pleasant smile becomes a more menacing grin. "Well, if you believe he's happy with this result... ah well, it's about time, Goku." As he walks towards the ring, he glances back at you one more time, telepathically telling you, 'You could also make this match trivial for Goku, couldn't you? Ah, but you know he wouldn't like that...'
>A. He doesn't need my help to beat you

CURSED
FOUNDING
Last Time, on Feral Necromancer Quest: You were faced with your firs ever crisis since the birth of the Alliance, indeed a set of three crises. You chose to lead the diplomatic mission to the orcs of the Southern Sea yourself, leaving the Elves with investigations to the East and the West. You met with the orcish raiders, and they feared you as one of their gods, as you approached them in your true form. You quickly dissuaded them of the notion, showing that you are in truth a man and a leader of men, but your show of force made significant inroads with them- furthered by your offering of food and land. After the feast, however, four young orcs had gone missing and you set out to investigate their disappearance. You found them enthralled by a group of dryads, and you failed to convince them to let the orcs go. You chose not to fight them for it, and returned instead to orcs to convince the warlike tribe to move on, finding more success here. They have established themselves near Pernite lands and may become a civilization in their own right. All the while, Bathory had been scouting the Pernite lands, and learned of the coming of a new Prophet. Lathrien, in the meantime, discovered that the city to the East contained stasis pods for over a hundred ancient High Elves. Once more, you have your hands full. And that is where the thirty fourth installment of Feral Necromancer Quest concluded.
The Cast:
Vlad Tepish: You, a necromancer and a shaman of great skill. You achieved your immortality, and your true form is now that of a black dragon. You hold the tie-breaker vote in the Council of Elders of the Alliance.
Bathory Tepish: Your lover and the mother of your child. She is a cunning diplomat in her own right, and she has become the chronicler of the Alliance.
Mihnea: Your ten year old daughter. She is starting to realize that your magic is cool, even if it is not like in the stories. Self-confident and rash, you have made sure she is given all the best education.
>>44564206
first for orcs should have settled nearer to our lands
>>44564206
Lathrien: A Vampire and your erstwhile apprentice, the young elf has grown into a formidable man. A master of discipline and illusion, he can become all but invisible when he wishes to do so, and his mind is honed to a razor's edge.
Melandie: Your best tracker, scout, and an elven berserker, she is a complicated person. She wields a runed greatsword and a greatbow into battle, and has been making friends among kobolds and gnolls to the exclusion of her own race.
Korg: Your orcish blackguard, he is bound to your will. Wielding a massive warhammer, he likes nothing more than to use it. A creature of simple pleasures and direct methods he is a terrifying warrior. Your daughter has taken a liking to him and calls him 'Uncle Korg'.
Halivean (Hal): Your elven blackguard, he is fanatically loyal to you. Strong, fast and clever, he is a terror on the battlefield, but he excels at leading your undead into combat.
Karist: Dwarven runesmith and elder.
Spot: Gnoll rogue and boss.
Vlad the Kobold: Kobold leader.
Amythrien: Elven craftsman and elder.
Sheila: Human elder from your village.
Housekeeping:
I have updated the Character Sheets to include Bathory and to update Lathrien and Melandie to their post-timeskip stats. Character sheets here: http://pastebin.com/vBRyBWfK
I have added Acrobatics, Athletics and Unarmed Perks to the Perks list. Perks list and character advancement here: http://pastebin.com/WwpGdjMJ
I have decided to scrap the Civilization rules for now. They were poorly balanced and thematically inappropriate. It is not yet time for the next time-skip, but expect something more narrative and simplified both for the next Civilization turn.

Would it be inappropriate to use Annah as she looked in Planescape:Torment as a PC or NPC portrait today? I only ask because D&D art has gotten a lot less "weird" since the end of 3rd edition and the death of the "dungeonpunk" aesthetic. I really love the Planescape stuff from 2E, but it feels like 4e and 5e have changed gears on what D&D looks like.

Last night's storm failed to wake you it seems, as water drips rhythmically on your head. This place, and it's stench of feces and rotting food begins to rot the inside of your nose. Your head is pounding...you know not why you're here. Your arms are now slumped down, above you, your shackles are unlocked and opened. Where you are, it's eerily quiet, yet people still had to be here...you still have marks on your wrists. You try to remember who you are...who exactly are you?

40k newbie here, why don't any of the races just leave the galaxy and find a new one to fuck up?
>>44557402
Tyranids did, orcs too, probably.
>>44557402
Orks have never mastered space travel. Besides there is too much good fighting going on the galaxy to leave it.
Eldar will not leave their legacy and a galaxy that rightfully belongs to them behind.
Humans are the dominant force in the galaxy. Why leave that position of power?
Necrons are the same as the Eldar. This galaxy belongs to them by right, and, by gauss and blood, they will take it back.
The Tau just started to get to know the galaxy.
Chaos is a multidimensional and multiversal force. Wherever life exists, Chaos will find it.
orks have, eldar and necrons (now) use the webway which only exists in the milky way, the imperium probably has some belief about going too far from the emperor and they wouldn't spare the resources anyway, tau are too small, daemons have no reason to and tyranids obviously do regularly.

You are Brianna la Croix, journeyman necromancer, and today you were supposed to meet Amy's mother, kill zero people, make some progress on understanding the situation in the Mine, and find someplace to crash for the evening because fuck if you're not fucking wiped.
You managed to meet Amy's mom, at least.

Nevermind what I said previously.
So now that Nathan's dead and Amy is going to cuck us with Talon Thunder-Cock (made of 100% authentic cock) are we ready for that Brigette/Victoria route I was hyping up!
>>44554756
Amy gave you the space you wanted, but eventually circumstances forced your hand; you have to go to the meetup with Nathan and Silence and swap notes. You return the chair inside and pick up the plate with your pipe and ash.
"C'mon," you murmur. "Let's go. Diving Shadow, you'd best be prepped to talk business here soon."
"Or?" she challenges softly.
"Or I'll trap you in a hell of blindness and silence so thick you won't be able to hear yourself think," you snap. "I don't care how fucking tough you are, we're trying to rescue your fucking husband and depose the Baron and thus far you have been of /negative value/ to that goal."
Diving Shadow regards you cooly and chirps before hopping down from her perch. "You are correct."
"...I'm also stressed," you grant. "That should've been more polite."
"Let's just get to work."
You scatter the ashes outside and brush the plate off before putting it away. You manage to chain-smoke your way through your entire cigarette supply on your way to the meetup and start in on the cigars after you settle in to wait.
Amy, heart in her throat, cautiously sits down next to you. You put your hat on her head and feel her relax slightly.
"I didn't mean it like that," she murmurs.
"I know you didn't," you say with a sigh. "You've been through a lot, and you're a bit..." you stop before you can say 'scatterbrained'. "Unfocused, sometimes. I know you've got a good heart, Ames. But that doesn't make it not hurt. And it doesn't mean you don't have to resolve this."
"I know," Amy whispers. She scoots her back against yours and sits, as you've seen her sit with Nathan.
Eventually you hear the sounds of people coming up the tunnel, along with Fetch - ever vigilant - informing you telepathically that the Hero has returned.
