Is it just to feel more hipster? retro nostalgia? I'll admit the thought of playing a record on a record player or listening to a cassette is very comforting to me for some reason. although I do not own any vinyl or cassettes. so I guess it's more psychological than anything else. It's a curiosity , a novelty
would normal ppl today think it's cool or would they think it's weird? like your average person , would they be impressed by someone's record collection or think "this person still plays music on records..and cassettes...that's cray"

Alright you guise, I'm bored and want to design a modest live music venue. This will take some time and effort - few days anyway. Here's what I propose to do:
1. Take design and feature suggestions from /mu/
2. Design the venue in Sketchup for /mu/'s approval
3. Design the venue in acoustic simulation software
4. Design the modal response in FEA software (including under-stage subwoofer channels to tune the room resonance)
4. Create binaural auralizations of the space based on the reverberation and modal response calculations
5. Provide the client (/mu/) with a lovely CGI visual and audio walkthrough of the space. Buy a beer, hear the space, pickup some bitches, etc.
It will be /mu/'s club! Please post any venue suggestions here - general layout, type of venue/room shape and size, etc. I will take the most resonable suggestions and apply my acoustic know-hows to tune the room as perfectly as I can!

The point of sharethreads are not to request albums that you cannot find in the archive. The point of sharethreads are to share albums that maybe you might have listened to, or you want others to hear. That is not to say this is a place for viral marketing.
People are missing the point and they are thinking that this is a thread where you ask for certain albums and get a response. There are some people who post their collection or are on music sharing websites and are willing to upload some things. You can ask those people for certain albums since they are willing to upload them.

you know, they're nice when you're a pleb. i loved going in and getting a shitload of new music. but now i've realized that they just clutter up the board. earlier there was a good punk discussion going on and it was sooooooooo inactive. must have had like 10 bumps. there is next to 0 discussion these days, at least it feels like that.
sharethreads are the kind of thing that just encourages dumping. it gets so bad that you see trips dumping the same handful of albums. annoying as fuck. i know we all love music, and when we hear something new then we want to share it (my fb is filled with songs from youtube i think are worth sharing) but it is quite out of hand here.
