Some other "experimental" hip hop albums worth check out this year:
Man Bites Dog - Noir ( Hip hop combined with noise and industrial. completely different formula from death grips and clipping )
The Koreatown Oddity - 200 Tree Rings (Very very similar too Clipping but with out the random noise sequences, basically very interesting beats with a rapper that sounds alot like the mc's from clipping)
Death Grips - Niggas on the moon (If you listen to clipping you had probably been listening to death grips long before so your probably familiar with this album)
Cities Aviv - COME TO LIFE ( Production very similar to clipping, less dark and alot more abstract. lots of reverb with great use of percussion. If you liked man bites dog - noir, check this one out as well )

I want something new apart from draft punk, billy idol, neil Armstrong, pink martini, etc. I really like metal such as Disturbed, Slayer, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and other bands like Gorillaz, Article monkeys and indi music. people listen to it the same way they do music. it's all about how it is interpreted. same reason field recordings can be considered music, and why rock and jazz are music even if different instruments are involved. it's still listened to like music, and just about anything can be "music to my ears", even if that's not the intent in its creation
