/mu/, what are some very sad albums?
Please, PLEASE, no emo, no edgy stuff, no overposted albums.
Keaton Henson - Deer. Get a happy album ready or arrange some good times when it's over because this one will hit hard
Thoughts on Kate Bush? What are your favourite albums and songs?
It's the one that everyone knows but my favourite is Wuthering Heights. I know.

Although I love Jig of Life (not on youtube).

Kate is my favorite female artist of all time.
Her idiosyncratic vocal style is wonderful.
Her work was so innovative and ahead of it's time.
Hounds of Love and The Dreaming are masterpieces.
A lot of her work has deeper meaning to it which is interesting to research.
She has inspired some of my favorite contemporary artists such as Bjork, Julia Holter, Fiona Apple, and Joanna Newsom which is pretty cool.

I totally agree. Which female artist is best to jump into after Kate?
What are the best hip hop albums that aren't part of the rap subgenre?

I am a fan of ambient/downtempo/electronic music by musicians such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Plaid, Brian Eno, Photek, Jega, Lustmord etc - but I tend to skip many of the tracks in their albums for being too "noisy" and random, I prefer ambiance and a consistent tune.
Any recommendation tracks or albums for me?
>>50661657
Try a guy called Fennel, he's on bandcamp i think.
>>50661676
Thanks.
>>50661657
Brian Eno? Noisy? hmmmm
Have you heard Discreet Music by him? The first track is 30 minutes long and is completely mellow the whole way through. Then there are three classical tracks that I never listen to.

That's not saying much
Does anyone else feel like hip-hop has an incredible amount of unexplored potential as a genre? Rappers have the entire canon of poetry to work with, and yet fucking Enter the Wu-Tang Clan - with all its silly ninja shit - is often considered the GOAT hip-hop album. Not to mention all the misogyny, homophobia and materialism that pervades the genre. Gangsta rap is the bane of hip-hop.
Discuss.
Try instrumental hip hop, turntablism, instrumental jazz hop, hip hop fusions, trip hop, electro and all the other subs outside of rap

Youre a faggot for even repeating that Wu Tang bullshit.

I'm sticking around tomorrow, unfortunately won't be able to make any more tracks until Thursday maybe.
seems like you're really trying hard to push this
haven't heard any of the music but by the name alone, it sounds like a rip-off of vapor wave.
Haven't had one in awhile, so let's have a hypnagogic pop thread, /mu/. Favorite releases? Favorite artists? Been revisiting Lamborghini Crystal lately. Dial 747-Creepozoid and Alien Microwave are fucking genius
Also taking upload requests
>>50644984
nice thread op :=)
>>50646259
Fuck it, I'll dump some stuff I already have uploaded. I can't be the only one still digging hypnagogic pop, right?
Can we get a chart thread going on?
sure

How is Weighing Souls With Sands even remotely similar to traditional Post-Rock?
Also there should be a category for "Drone Rock" or "Something that isn't heavy" with Pentastar, TBMHITLS, Feedbacker, etc.
ITT: Good albums to listen to in the background while working on school shit

I like this
Just essentially bland music that still retains somewhat of a charm despite it washing over you with nothing much gained. Deviations from 4/4 and pop music formats are not welcome.
Help me finish this list.
