nah
Why don't you support a local music scene?
Most small time bands and local musicians are shit. When they get good they develop a following and cease to be "local".
Because my local music scene sucks beyond belief
Because my local music scene is entirely hood rats making awful hip-hop and metalcore scenester teenagers.
Post five of your musical "fetishes" and get recs.
I'll start
>Concept albums
>Odd time signatures
>Synthesizers
>Variety of genres
>Sad, but optimistic mood/lyrics
Pic unrelated.
You like odd times and genre blending eh?
Any album where someone farts into the mic is an instant 10/10 in my book.

Is 'post-irony' gonna be the new trend in music this decade?
>>51134605
>new
That shit started with New Wave
I'm so confused /mu/. Isn't post-irony unironic? Why is it associated with so much stuff that's ironic in one way or another? Is it just that the word "ironic" has lost its connotations through over-usage?
>>51134627
'post-irony' is pretty much taking irony seriously
it's pretty deep I know
Looking for some sick post-pop.
Let me know if you find any

What's your favorite music genres, anons? And why?
I love good old rock'n'roll, jazz (bebop, swing, free jazz), country, folk and avant-garde. Good old times of music, jesus fuck. That groove, that riffs, that pianos, those saxophones everywhere. Fuck me hard.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC3Q_PlD8Ug
i like hardcore punk derivatives, esp post-hardcore and emocore
i like the cathartic climaxes tempered by the sinister build-ups
i like the sad
i like the cool imagery
i also like kpop
i like dancing
i like cute girls
that's mostly what i listen to lately
what do you mean by avant-garde because that doesn't really fit my definition of good old times music
>>51133588
I generally like post-punk the most.
It has something thats really unlike other geners. It's kind of dark and at the same time full of energy.
I also like post-rock, especially the heavy stuff, and yeah the crescendos are fine by me.
>>51133609
>what do you mean by avant-garde because that doesn't really fit my definition of good old times music
Yeah, I know. I beg you pardon for my mistake. I should say "also, I like avant-garde music". Avant-garde is just avant-garde. But well, free jazz is kinda avant-garde so you know, Coleman, Braxton, Coltrane and stuff.
/mu/, I just got the comfiest job ever.
On a Sunday I am the sole employee in a used bookstore, which is pretty quiet these days even on the weekend. I don't have much to do, and I'm supposed to play music throughout the store. It can be whatever I want provided it's bookstorish.
What would you recommend to play?
So far I can think of:
Nujabes
Thelonius Monk
Django Reinhardt
Fleet Foxes
Nick Drake
???
>>51133152
maybe you should play some Leonard Cohen.
>>51133162

Why does sad electronic music not exist? Excluding "ambient" music, the only emotion electronic music can invoke is to be happy or excited. Pic not related
Hey OP
*Ahem
Kid A > Amnesiac > Hail to the Thief > In Rainbows > The King of Limbs > The Bends > OK Computer > Pablo Honey
There has never been a more uneducated post on this board
