i have a question about sharethreads?

am i supposed to post more obscure albums? or to put it another way, am i supposed to assume people have the albums they see here everyday? or do i post whatever i feel like?

also do i just copy and paste the link to my mega account?
my mega account has over a hundred albums, but if i just want the person linked to 1 album how do i do that?
>>
>>51275334
post what you feel like, obscure or not, as long as it's not always posted.

this video is horrifying. i honestly cannot believe that so many americans enjoy this kinda thing. is it just because they're not exposed to decent music? it's kinda sad. i wonder if they'd actually enjoy decent music if they were exposed to it. probably not

there was this kid i gave a ride to once. asked him what kinda music he liked and he said 'house or anything bro'. so i put on some dance mania as well as this great techno mix by pangaea and after the whole thing he said 'damn how can you listen to the same beat for that long that's not even house'

funny times.

Stuck between getting a Korg MS-20 and a Minibrute. My budget is $600 and I'm looking to make ambient/sample heavy stuff and maybe noise, I also plan on making instrumental hip hop but I feel like my MIDI and VSTs work well for that.

I'm not the Bass Station II nazi, but I recommend it. Way under-priced.
>>
Between the two I'd probably grab the MS20. I wouldn't go for an analog synth for ambient though.
>>
>I wouldn't go for an analog synth for ambient though.
this

You could get a Roland JD-990 off ebay for cheaper than either of those new
If you wanted to be even cheaper you could buy a Roland JV-1080 or a Roland XV-3080/5050
If you wanted to be even cheaper you could buy a Roland XV2020 or JV1010

You could get the Korg Legacy Wavestation VST for like 50 bucks
You could buy U-He's Diva or Bazille for like 200 bucks

You could get a Blofeld for about the same price

It would be cool to own a MS-20 though I admit

Talk about drums, drummers, drumming.
Don't think I've seen a drum thread before so here we go.

Time for a pleb stories thread.
I'll start with one I posted in the thread yesterday.

>Few years ago
>Have friend who claims Beach Boys is his favorite band of all time and that they are far better than The Beatles
>Think he must be pretty cool and ask him if he had heard the then new Smile Sessions release
>What's that?
>Feel a bit irritated that he claims to be such a huge Beach Boys fan but isn't aware of Smile so I start to explain to him the history behind it and how Brian tried so hard to outdo both Pet Sounds and The Beatles but it resulted in him having a breakdown and the album got cancelled and turned into Smiley Smile
>Er, I don't think I've ever heard Pet Sounds
>Wait, how the fuck?
>Well... I don't really listen to their original albums because I just want to listen to their good tracks, that's why I have all their greatest hits compilations instead
Haven't been as mad at anything or anyone since.

Also, he considers Kokomo to be objectively the best Beach Boys track.

No one wants tinnitus!
Are earplugs essential for concerts?
Im seeing Interpol this month, along with some band my sister likes, For King and Country.

These are going to be my first live band concerts, besides this one orchestra I saw once. So how loud can these get and is it necessary to wear these (ear) plugs?

if so, where can i get a lot of cheap pairs?
62 posts and 9 images submitted.
>>
I don't know how loud they can get, but bringing them with you to a concert is smart in any case. Don't have to use them unless it's louder than you're comfortable with. Better safe than sorry.
>>
Me and my friends like to make fun of those faggots at concerts with earplugs.
The best part is that they can't even hear us.

What have you been listening to?
What are your favorites?

Go to http://www.random.org/
Choose a number from 0 to 99
Tell me your number and I'll try to give you a sample and a DL link of the corresponding album.

Remember to share and listen to other's people stuff too!

>What is Prog?
Prog is a genre of music characterized by multi-sectional songs with complex instrumentals and odd time signatures/harmonies. Feel free to post anything that fits with the description!

Feel free to post Non-Prog stuff too if you want, from Tibetan Throat Singing to Madonna's latest single. Just remember that these threads are Prog focused (but not restricted).
