Again, gonna be boring here and say Jim Hall's Concertio. I just adore his tone and I don't feel like anyone bar Davis has really managed to do Spanish influenced jazz that well.

Duke Ellington's Money Jungle because I want to post something else for post bop and I feel like I can just about justify calling this Hard bop.

Woody Shaw - The Moontane or Mccoy Tyner - Saharah
The Moontrane because I adore Shaw's playing and how he can manage to sound really technical but still give a very pleasant sounding performance. All while doing really unusual stuff with the trumpet (really big intervals, at really fast tempos really high) and his really unusually bright tone.
Mccoy Tyner because I love how chaotic and passionate it sounds. I like the way Tyner plays and it really suits this album because you get a lot of depth to the playing with the really heavy chords he does with the right hand. When he does Prayer for my family it just sounds so ridiculously full even though it's just him playing. It sounds like there's two people playing at parts of it because his rhythm keeping with both hands is so good. Also: really wide breath of influence. Who knew he could play koto?

Sun Ra- Sleeping Beauty. It's got all of the positive aspects of Space is the place but everything is very calm and serene so it's easy to listen to and I find myself more often in the mood for it than any other Sun Ra album.

Charles Mingus - Black Saint. It's Black Saint.
>Fusion album?
Gonna say Soft Machine's Third. I feel like they don't get enough recognition as a group that was doing fusion right at it's conception and that they were working towards the same end point as Miles Davis and got somewhere close to it very shortly after Davis did.

Are you fucking kidding me? /mu/ doesn't know shit, everyone talks about the same ~50 bands day in and day out. That's why we call it /mu/core. The people who have unique, obscure tastes usually become tripfags or get well-known somehow, usually through RYM.
I'm guessing most of us are like 22-24 and have been actively downloading/looking for music since at least age 16 so that's like 8 years for a 24 year old.
It just happened very naturally. You like one album, you see what the artists in that band were influenced by, you listen to those albums, you see who they were influenced by, you see what albums are commonly recommended by fans of that band, etc. etc.
Combination of stuff I've seen on here, scouring last.fm and RYM, and recs from people I know.
I'm actually trying to figure out what to listen to next right now. Was listening to St. Vincent before that.

Could I get some Vaporwave recs similar to pic related and Blank Banshee? I like the creative production techniques on Replica and I like the hip hop influences on Blank Banshee but I don't really like the repetitiveness that I hear on a lot of other Vaporwave.

Synth General:
Behringer edition
Apparently Behringer is in the works of developing a synthesizer. Uli Behringer revealed that he built his own synthesizer at age 16, and wants to come back to synthesizers. Hopefully they will be built by the Midas division to avoid build quality issues.
What are your thoughts?
