40-60's avant garde is beyond stagnant conceptually by now. If you listen to this crap you are the true pleb.

You aren't as patrician as you think you are.
i can see is going to be a fun thread
Can we have a band general? As in, we discuss being in a band. Not other bands.
>Gig stories
>Booking/Promotion
>Local scenes
Stuff like that. Let's give it a shot. Note that this isn't a thread for sharing your SC or Bandcamp unless it's actually relevant.
Looking like band I'm in is finally going to start getting shows. So the question becomes, how2dance while playing guitar? Is it best to...
>classic don't-move-and-stare-at-my-pedalboard
>jerk around like an idiot, meaning just move to the music however I'm feeling
Unsure of which one to go with.
Gigging guitarist / bassists of /mu/, how do you move around when you play? Groove or no?
>>53334675
I basically only play DIY shows. They're the only good ones in Colorado. Crowd surfing is welcomed and everybody gets down and actually has fun, because when you play at a house, nobody's worried about security or any of that shit.
>>53334878
I dance, why the fuck wouldn't you unless you had autism?
>>53334962
I mean some of our stuff is pretty shoegazey, I feel like dancing then wouldn't be super authentic. Don't really know how to move to walls of sound etc

Will things ever feel mindblowing in music? It seems that after Aphex/Squarepusher/Noisia then Skrillex with brostep all sounds and rhythms have been pushed to the limit.

>Hey anon, what type of music do you listen to?
How do you answer this question?
none
*puts on sunglasses and farts in he own mouth*
Whenever someone asks me, I just say "I listen to a bit of everything. If it's catchy, I'll download it."
Everything except rap and country. :)
This album reminds me of having an anxiety attack
How do people genuinely sit around and listen to this stuff?
>The Off Site, a venue in Tokyo, is home to the Onkyo music movement, which is characterized by improvisation, minimalism, and "quiet noise".[3] Onkyo improvisation, "explores the fine-grained textural details of acoustic and electronic sound".[1]
I picture a room full of fedoras
Deep down most of us just like catchy rock/pop songs with a bit of edge

>How do people genuinely sit around and listen to this stuff?
It was on p4k.
>>53331278
There's not much different between sitting down in a field and listening to Onkyo, vs sitting down in a rainforest and listening to nature.

godamnit ;(
Is anyone downloading/archiving?
If you could pick your top 3 discographies based on overall consistency, progression in sound and just generally think "every album is great" what would they be?
I'll start
1. DG
2. Electric Wizard
3. Summoning
I was going to put Bjork or Swans
>fantano reaction image as OP
fuck off and never come back
>>53330754
I can't think of a good third artist but Bowie and Eno definitely come to mind. They both have long discographies with a fair bit of variety and different genres. Those two would keep me entertained for a long time.
The Smiths
If he gets 1/400th of his followers to pay $5 for each of his "classic" reviews he will make $60,000. And that's on top of all the other money he makes from ads, likes, merch, recordings of him reading other people's fanfictions, and literal concert tickets for people to come hang out with him. Can we as a board make a conscious effort to stop watching his videos or supporting him in any way?
WHERE
IS
THE
MONEY
GOING
?
wow someone on the internet is so fucking offended at a guy exchanging a service for money that he made a useless post on 4chan about it thats pretty autistic if you ask me
Not bad for a /mu/tant who bought a webcam instead of getting a tripcode and being filtered.
Is Joy Division acccepted on /mu/?
If not, what do you think is a better band that is similar?
>>53329977
Mission of Burma
Yes they are accepted. Bauhaus is better tho
Ian's voice reminds me of South Park when Trey Parker sang "Burn Down Hot Topic". Everytime I listen to joy division it reminds me of South Park and I chuckle a little.
what are small, but slowly growing record labels that I could send demos to? something like pic related. my music is poppy/fast/bass, drum machine & vox
>inb4 burger records
i'm pretty interested in this too, as someone who has been told by many people to send their shit to burger and never got a response
though my shit is entirely different than OP's, it sounds like
>>53329309
I wanted to send a demon to weiner records which is burger's branch specialized for demos that are sent to them, but after looking at the rates i wouldn't waste a penny. lowest is $250
>>53329575
demo* lol

I'd be lying if I didn't say D
