but how the fuck are they making any fucking money for the past almost two years? They released the majority of their music for free, limted vinyls that they get a portion of.

I just dont get how they have enough to survive as a band, let alone personal expenses.

/mu/ hates Perfect Pussy. The reason cited first is always that Meredith is an unbearable person, which she is, but it's also pretty unanimous that they suck. Their demo that came out before the album actually gave something to be optimistic about; but the album itself was trash.

because some people actually find merit in hardcore punk that only has hardcore punk as it's influence

i know it's fucking crazy i don't get it

This is starting to go viral. I bet it will be huge in 2 days.

What do you think? In referring to 'Don't Stay in School', the artists is not talking about students dropping out, but rather dropping required subjects that aren't practical, like math and science.

Do you agree? Thoughts?

I'm going to be tripping soon. I've tripped a lot and listen to psychedelic music, but I'm looking for suggestions that aren't necessarily categorized as psychedelic music. Ambient, avant garde, minimalist classic, etc. I want to listen to music that's going to do interesting things sonically.

Can you help me /mu/?

>why is /bleep/ so shit now
It's because back then nearly all posters had always posted, if you see what I mean. Originally /mu/ largely ignored these threads, but as time went on, more and more 'outside' posters began to pick up on /bleep/. Nowadays more than half of the people in any one thread are relatively new, and so haven't yet sussed out what /bleep/ is about. Whereas previously it was pretty easy to educate and assimilate the low number of new posters, nowadays the sheer volume makes this nigh on impossible. The result is that the overall posting quality is reduced and /bleep/'s self-identity becomes diluted. The most important effect is that veteran posters become cynical and reactionary; helpful and educational replies to newbies are supplanted by dismissive mockery and the eventual developmemt of an 'us vs them' dynamic, typified by the petty 'pardners vs chavs' shitfllinging you've seen over the last few months. Obviously, 4chan being 4chan, this simply invites further arguments, trolling and counter-trolling. Whether from aggrieved newbies who've been told to fuck off one too many times, belligerant OG /bleep/ers or genuine opportunistic trolls, the volume of shitposting becomes so high that many don't even attempt decent conversation, seeking refuge in plug.dj rooms or only posting at slower times of the day. This makes it even easier for external trolls , and even more importantly homegrown ones, to take over and destroy any semblence of a cohesive community.

Fortunately there is a solution, and it's not only simple but it's also one that's been around for so long that it should be ingrained;
>make quality posts, and ignore shitposting

how you guys liking the new releases on lobster theremin?
>>
what types of posters are "pardners" and "chavs" meant to represent?

pardners are non club going americans posting non-bleep related "intellectual" electronic music?

and chavs are club going, drug taking brits that only care about what "bangs" in a club environment?

surely /bleep/ is meant to be for the chavs then?

people are so hostile and aggressive and theres as many dumb shitposting threads as there are music threads

Why do boys have such shit taste? I know plenty of girls in the punk rock scene who have infinitely better taste than all of you p4kcore drones.

I bet you losers can't even name 5 record labels, or even 5 record stores. You probably just stay in your house all day and download music from soulseek 24/7. I actually go to shows and dig through crates for music, instead of p4k doing it for me.

We have this term here called "girl-listening". You just listen to a few bands to fit in somewhere and to have a couple of t-shirt and patches to seem cool. But you dont know anything about the bands albums or history, and dont buy albums, arrange gigs or anything.
Most girls in the punk scene here are like that anyway.

Posted this in the last thread as it died so I guess I'll post it again here. Does anyone know how to get the tone that NMH has on On Avery Island?
>>
First time recording myself singing today after 6 month, sounded like shit but not as shit as I would have thought, might get singing lessons, pretty stoked

and my ableton doesn't recognize my crack anymore :(
>>
Most fuzzes will do, I'd recommend one with a bias knob tho for more tonal options

What is the appeal of happy hardcore? My roommate has been playing lots of this shit + nightcore which is basically the same thing and I just don't understand how people can listen to it for so long.

It's the glucose-fructose syrup of electronic music genres. I don't mind a couple of tracks (they are after all fast and catchy tunes) but most of it is mass produced garbage, with presets used lavishly.

Also some fans (and even producers) have the nerve to say how amazingly life changing the music is and slander pop music as "for kids," not even recognizing the fact their music is pop hardcore in essence. It is so stuck up.

Still, could be worse. Could be jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqNlJc4EdC4

Its really female and its really happy. It could be evil, but its beatutiful. I say that because i know a person who had a very intense trip on it and went chick. The whole thing is pretty incredible.

/mu/ we need to have a talk. Why in the lord's name is Unwound, arguably one of the most important bands of the 90's, not talked about here? They revolutionized what post-hardcore meant, by experimenting and setting a new standard for the sub-genre. It wasn't just about angst, they expanded past the roots of hardcore punk with their own brand of brainy punk rock. All of their albums are a testament to what they have done to rock, pop, punk and the avant-garde. So once again, why isn't this band talked about more? Is it simply because a lot of people do not know about them and they're underrated? that should definitely change, and there should be a guide to ease in new fans.

if this thread gets going, i might take the liberty to make such a list / chart.
