Why has Goth been rebranded as "post-punk" in the last couple of years? Goth was a reaction to punk selling out and becoming jarhead slam music or evolving into hardcore, it was a place for people to go where they could keep up the punk diy sprit and not have jocks knock them down for writing something other then some corny shit about anarchy. right now there are people making goth music like deerhunter but they don't get called goth because it has this stigma. and im not saying postpunk isn't real im just saying that a lot of the stuff that is getting the post-punk brand simply isn't post-punk
Because Americans love labels but are really bad at applying them.

Yea, but his music, his voice, they really make you feel good. Not many 80's artists can really get you to feel the decade, Yamashita really pulls it off
