Is she the voice of this generation?
more like a wet fart trying to imitate nancy sinatra
Yes, yes she is. Young & Beautiful defined a decade.

Vapid, style over substance, fake and boring. Yes, yes she is.
What does /mu/ think about Tangerine Dream? their 70s work is pretty good
Love them
Best official release is Pergamon
Best studio album probably Force Majeure or Stratosfear
Best bootleg is Tangerine Trees 30
1985 was their last good year
Agree or disagree?
>>63559934
just got into them, i've only listenend to the virgin years. currently listening to Stratosfear for the second time. Pheadra and Hyperborea are my favs so far.
Yep, their 70's work is really good. I don't understand how their quality could go down so badly in the 80's and forwards. It's still OK but not nearly as good as they used to be.
How do you listen to music?
Quite a hard question and maybe no one can be bothered giving a full answer but something I'm v interested in.
For example, do you visualise worlds/scenarios to go with the music, do you focus on the feeling or the instruments and so on?
I tend never to do much but sit there quite blankly and see if the music does something to me. Interested in your ways
depends
if it's something very lyrical heavy like a ballad then I try to picture they're putting together. Somtimes it's a little more abstract. If there's no real or coherent narrative them maybe I try to focus on the emotions or feeling they're trying to portray.
sometimes if it's an instrumental I imagine a soundscape or maybe some kind scenario or scene
or maybe I think of the band playing in the studio
>>63559877
depends on the song, if its rap or something i like to focus on the lyrics. if its something else i focus on the melody
I spend 90% of my time programming and I have to put all of my attention into that, so I tend to focus on the melody because I use music as something to keep me alert/focused.
When I'm doing that I listen to Drake, Ghost, Daft Punk, Electric Wizard and some others.
When I'm not doing that I focus on lyricism/complexity and I tend to listen to Kendrick, Gza, MF Doom, King Crimson and Radiohead.

Are there any universally hated(not only on /mu/) solo artists who still make living through music?
>>63559813
Justin Bieber?
Father John Misty probably

I'm going to go out on a limb and start sawing off the branch which I'm clinging to. Do you think I'll die if I fall from 40 feet up?
how does he afford to eat out so much? he's like a D list rapper
he was a cook

He probably recognizes that his bloated form is the source of his success, scant as said success may be.
I applaud him on being so self-aware.

This. Bronsons are base, shallow creatures with no appreciation or sense of taste.
Indeed man is rendered an eternal wretch longing for Action Bronson's hallow touch, a wisp of his hair, his doting laugh. The stain of our existence, the lot of them.
any other weeb musicians?
also what did he mean by this?
>any other weeb musicians?
Porter Robinson
>also what did he mean by this?
That he's in massive debt and is trying to attract more people to listen to his shitty music
he's right though
Akira, is king.

13 Ways to Bleed On Stage was an amazing album (for my 14 year old self). "Bleed" is the reason why I picked up playing guitar.
This album was underwhelming.
Hey /mu/. I normally avoid this place, but I was curious of everyone's opinion on this album. I think it's a good.
reply to this post or you die tonight
I'm obligated to come here, i break out in hives and hallucinate George Costanza if i dont. It is not cool as he is very mean.
