Why is Neil Peart considered the best drummer of all time by most plebs?
It seems like the average math rock drummer could give him a run for his money, or am I missing something?
He's a very good drummer. Maybe not the best of all time but saying "he's not that good" or "he actually sucks" is contrarianism.

I am contesting only that he is considered "the best drummer of all time".
I know he's good, and so are at this point thousands of other drummers across nearly every genre of rock.

His playing techinque was very innovative for its time
ITT: Genres of music in which everyone on /mu/ cannot talk about on a level beyond "the list goes on..."
>Noise rock (Les Rallizes Denudes, Fushitsusha, the list goes on...)

>Industrial (Coil, Throbbing Gristle, the list goes on...)
>Avant folk (Exuma, Comus, the list goes on...)

you can talk to loads of different people on /mu/ about those genres, but very specific people.

>Funk
Parliament, Funkadelic, the list goes on...
>Afrobeat
Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti, the list goes on...

Avant folk isn't a genre
when are you people going to learn this
>tfw we'll never be as smart as /lit/ or /sci/
Music is a shitty, stupid field.
I'm sorry for ruining your shitty bait thread buddy but I've been waiting all day to do this
check em
books and science are all objective.
music is subjective, how can you be smart if people like and agree on completely different things?
Having a passion for music /= stupid
When organizing your library, certain words should always be left capitalized, like:
By
On
At
For
Other words should always remain lowercase, like:
the
of
to
Any other way is total madness.
Can somebody prove me wrong?
that's how the english language works buddy
>>63613149
I don't care, my way looks better.
>>63613131
I capitalize every word the record has.
>brian wilson has used the word fuck
;(
>June 11, 2014
>Brian Wilson uses normiebook
brian is the biggest cuck in all of music
what is this awful meme

It's not saying these albums are bad, they're just the "the list goes on" when it comes to avant-garde music. If someone is into these but doesn't know anything else of the genres, it shows that they're just using it for attention.
I like all of not most of those albums and even I think that the fanbase for them is awful.
>>63612856
its some fake garbage to shame people out of liking things
I've been out of /mu/ for about 2 years. What I've been missing?
i've been here for three weeks, you haven't missed anything.
some of the tripfags are very funny tho and they are actually more respectfull towards other people's tastes than anons
Literally nothing.
Trust me op it's better off if you don't come back to this shithole

Nothing, like you would any internet forum.
Thoughts on this album? Favorite swans album? Excited for the new album? Just general swans discussion thread
Love of Life is good but it's not one of their best. Anyone else excited for the new album?
Her is really awesome, but overall i think that album is below average.
What is the best order to listen to Swans
I've tried to dive in on their old albums and found them a hard listen, but I really liked The Seer. I'm guessing that is like their MPP
more like this?
>in b4 death grips
Geath Drips
death grips
brokeNCYDE
>yfw this album is actually really good
>Weezer
>Weezer
>Weezer
What does /mu/ think of Quasimoto?
never listened so he probably sucks
>>63612453
I think he should collaborate with Madlib.
memerap
I've really been enjoying Nick Drake and Elliot Smith's music lately. Can /mu/ suggest me some similar artists to check out?
Townes Van Zandt. musically is different, but had a very similar life with Nick Drake. Also born into a rich family, went to college to become a laywer, has bipolar desease, struggles most of his life with addicitions, ended up being poor. Very shy guy, to the point that he refused to record with Bob Dylan even thought he loved his music.

>>63611609
They don't
>this album happened
Thanks for the reminder. Good shit, gonna queue it now.
Because that album was released and completely ruined their legacy. Such an awful album. It was much better when they went out on a good note.
