Is there anyone that has anything remotely close to the distinct Hendrix sound? The closest I could find to it is some of Janis Joplin's stuff.

Im /mu/'s opinion, what's the difference between folk and country?
Vocals
Folk was a style of music mostly played in rural communities. Country is specific to the American south. Country is a type of folk.
Whether or not the singer has a southern accent.

I love Bird Seed, but I would have to prefer Mummy and Daddy. You have to listen to Mummy and Daddy. It is a perfect album. But those two are 10/10s for me.

Cruise is really good too. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend any of their stuff before like 1994, I mean there are a handful of good tracks they did, but I think it's skippable. But for some reason 1994-2007 was their golden age. So most work in that time was really good.

a good amount of dadrock albums are "approved" /mu/ seems to dislike Oasis in general and the popular Pink Floyd albums.
Also why does the dad rock label even exist? Isn't it subjective to whatever music your actual dad listens to? If so then my dad rock is CAN, Neu!, Talk Talk and that sorta stuff.

Yes, there is Cantopop, its as awful as KPOP.
Its got a huge expat community too though so there are lots of different music there.

Pearl Jam is a great band. Black and Yellow Ledbetter are some of my all time favorites. I wish Eddie had a better tone and pronunciation but musically they are tight.
