Idk man I wasn't around that early.
I know they were extremely popular in the underground but I didn't think they were platinum level. They charted on the billboard at least so that's pretty fucking impressive for a 90s indie label band.

Bose and Beats are dominating right now. The bass is powerful, which is all that matters in any genre of music that is actually good, and they look nice. Not expensive at all either.
