They don't know. I'm out to a lot of people, and most the school doesn't even know me (especially not that I'm trans). You would be suprised how many people can't tell at all and act shocked after you tell them. In all likelyhood, they probably think you are gay.

I'm in engineering. Hispanic for race. Idk what else to say about it. Don't feel like I fit the nerdy stem stereotype but there's a fair amount more dykes than fags in engineering. My uni kinda annoyed me cause it was such a special little nerd haven and I got into engineering because I thought the group work was great and just liked building shit. Thankfully career wise fit more into that than just some nerdy circle jerk.
Who else here feels it is time to drop gay men from the LGBTQ+ movement because they are so much more massively privileged than every other letter? I feel that their presence is damaging our efforts for equal rights... they are just far too out-of-touch with the struggles of trans, bis, lesbians, and other gender nonconforming people that it just feels like they are out of place.

May not actually be untrue. Lesbians and bisexuals are more socially accepted because they're not flamboyant and pushy and aggressive about their sexualities, and gay men literally do nothing for trans acceptance at all ever.
They're basically dragging the movement down with their sex parades and their burning need to let everyone know they suck cocks. Bisexuals could be respectable if being a homosexual wasn't tied to this image of being a flaming faggot and basically a woman's accessory.
Luckily, they don't affect lesbians much.

MtFs on the other hand rarely pass and have to deal with so many more issues connected to that fact. As man you can look uggo and still be accepted, but there's higher expectations from women in that regard. And a "woman" looking like half a man is certainly no eye...

It seems like a lot of "straight" men would totally be down to give bottoms dick and more often than they already are if this social categorization was not a thing.
