Out of curiosity, would a plasma gun actually be a feasible thing in real life?
These things show up all the time in the sci-fi genre, generally as some powerful weapons, but there doesn't seem to be much merit to the idea. Now I ain't a physicist or whatever, but basically shooting ball lightning at people sounds like it would be really shitty in small arms technology.
>>28863114
Project MARAUDER proved that plasma weapons work back in the 1990s. Who knows what happened to it after it was officially cancelled.

Absolute madmen!
I've been fascinated by plasma weaponry ever since "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter".
Would there be a greater hell than being on the Bismarck in the last battle?
Being on the HMS Hood in Bismarck's first battle.
>>28863112
Nah, that was a fast death.
The Bismarck was slowly shelled and burned to death. It was hit by hundreds of shells for hours and there was nowhere to go for protection.
If you read the few survivor accounts, it sounds like hell on earth.
The Hood would obviously suck but it was over in an instant.

Hey /k/ i unearthed a tattered vanilla envelope today with a bunch of pictures issued to my grandfather when he was in WW2. He was an anti aircraft gunner, where abouts i do not know, and these were the planes he was instructed not to shoot down. I thought they were pretty cool so i scanned them so i could share them with you.

Nice. I had not heard of this bomber before.
Anyone have a Smersh Rig? How comfy is it, Can it hold other mags besides AK Mags (.308 Mags for instance), what's your overall impression?
bumpski
>>28862628
I don't know any of the answers to your questions but I want that outfit.
>>28862628
I would answer your question if I had it, but instead I think I'm going to buy plates for my 6b45? Maybe I can scrape for a smersh if I find out how much I have.
Post yet gear for SHTF /k/ommandos

What do you guys think of the prospect of helicopter rifles. Similar to how anti-tank rifles appeared in ww1/ww2, do you think that a modern equivalent could function. Imagine a single soldier being able to put down a helicopter with one good shot.
Or, is this just putting to much stock into one idea?

anything that provides a significant tactical advantage is a good fucking idea
>not knowing this
>2016
The ratio of economic cost/benefit for the rifle's deployer is attractive, but it seems as though it would very much be a right place/time thing.
Helos in a low hover would disappear in a battlespace where these were routinely employed.
I was just hired to work at a small local bakery and start tomorrow. This will be the first place I've worked that doesn't have an explicit "if you have a carry license, please carry" policy, and I'm not sure how (or even if) I should approach the subject.
The owner a nice religious middle-aged white guy, so I figured it could go either way. If he's anti/neutral I don't want to come off as a psychopath by asking if I can bring a weapon to work, especially since I'm brand new. Since I have to wear a tucked-in shirt, I can't easily just carry anyway. I could wear my .380 in a tuckable holster, but the clips would be showing, and I'd feel on edge the whole time since I wouldn't have permission and the gun would (in my mind) be partially exposed.
What would /k/ do? Since I came to the US I've been carrying 24/7, even at work, so this new job is quite the change. I'm not paranoid about anything happening, it's just what I've grown to be comfortable with. Not carrying is like forgetting my phone or wallet at home.
Also, while we're on the subject, who here carries at work? What/how do you carry, and do you have permission?
Just carry it concealed, keyword concealed. If you can't manage that then turn in your CCW
>>28861457
I already addressed this.
>I could wear my .380 in a tuckable holster, but the clips would be showing, and I'd feel on edge the whole time since I wouldn't have permission and the gun would (in my mind) be partially exposed.
You think that's a good idea?
>>28861466
You'd be on edge in the beginning until you get used to it. Appendix may help with that too. But this is what concealed carry is all about, carrying when no one knows about it.
/k/ommandos, Cthulhu has risen from R'lyeh and you are tasked to terminate this ancient one by any means necessary.
What do you do and what would your strategy be in battling this creature?

One round of this bad boy will stop anything. ANYTHING.

Ram a little boat into his face.
Is 45 ACP the most overrated caliber ever? I mean it is just a fat slow more exxpensive bullet with a higher recoil than a 9mm with similar ballistics.
What is the point?
>>28860947
preference and multitude of firearms already chambered in it.
>>28860947
Your bait is bad, and you should feel bad for baiting with it.
>>28861043
No bait man.
ITT things that kill the gun grabber.
>in the founders time there were only muskets, not high capacity firearms like today

Literally no one has ever had a come back for the fact Lewis and Clark had a high capacity magazined rifle
>>28860737
The funny thing is that a pneumatic assault weapon is legal in most gun-grabber jurisdictions.
>>28860737
>in the founders time there were only muskets, not high capacity firearms like today
By that logic free speech should be restricted to books, newspapers, word of mouth, and public speaking with no amplification. Why are they so fucking dumb?
>>28860865
this argument comes up basically every single time the other argument comes up. I've never seen a grabber counter either that or op's.
Today I was at the massive Great American Outdoors Show in Harrisburg, PA. I'm dumping photos from some of the 2.2gig I shot.
Magpul, there. Glock, not there.

Skinnyfat dude who can probably do 30 odd pushups and like 50 sit ups and runs a 9 minute mile.
Ok so this might sound crazy but I want to get shot with a 9mm just to see what it feels like.
Obviously im gonna use ball ammo and have my buddy shoot me in a non-lethal area like my ass or my calf muscle.
What should I have on-hand to clean up the wound?
I will be uploading the video to youtube as an educational video to show what 9mm can really do, even if it's not a hollow point.
I'm gonna be on 30mg of oxycodone because I'm a pussy.
What do you guys think? What's the best spot to get shot for educational purposes?...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

You'll be fine, it's just 9mm. I'd recommend Band-aid brand bandaids on hand

That depends, were you planning on giving everyone cancer?
Well you spent money on a glock, so....
Yes.
What's a good gun to go all vigilante and kill a bunch of rapists and drug dealers and such?

Whats wrong with them you beta white knight? Women being raped may have been tabboo before the sexual revolution, when they valued their virginity and when being a non-virgin significantly impacted your ability to get married. Nowadays this isnt the case. Here is a protip, whatever grill you stalk on facebook isnt going to give you a handjob over it. This totally disregards the fact that you'd never do it because youre noguns.
Obviously a smith and Wesson .357, a .38 snubbie, a cheap ass .25 hidden in your sleeve on a retractable slide made from a desk drawer, and a bayonet taped to your ankle.
Remember to cut your hair and talk about Vietnam.
Depends where you'll be killing them.
