Have you thought about taking a class? You might need a professional to tell you you're flinching and to squeeze the trigger instead of pulling it. That or just remember that the important deal of using a pistol is that you're using it in a defensive distance of 25ft and lower, the fact you're hitting your target is good enough.

My bad
First time weapon owner here. Took my rifle (CZ 455) to the range and fired around 400 shots.
On the way home I picked up a cleaning rod, hoppes 9 solvent, a bore snake, hoppes weapon grease, some patches and weapon oil
I put some hoppes 9 solvent on the boresnake and ran it through the barrel 2 times. I also used weapon grease on the boresnake and ran it through the barrel. Is that enough? Do I need to use the rod? Do I need to clean the bolt itself or is there no need?
Sorry for stupid questions but I am a first time weapons owner. I just need to know how I am supposed to clean the rifle.
I was in your position not so long ago anon, hopefully I can be of some help.
This is my cleaning routine:
1. Dab solvent onto a cleaning cloth and run down the barrel a few times to ensure it gets into the rifling and evenly down the barrel itself
2. allow to sit or 5 minutes, I usually scrub and clean the bolt in this time. Be careful of using hoppes gun grease on the bolt as it will likely discolor it. That shit doesn't bother me so I put it on anyway to ensure it doesn't rust.
3. Is a brass bristled brush to work free everything the solvent has loosened up.
4. Pour hot water down the barrel (be sure it doesn't go onto your stock or it may rot)
5. I use patches but this would be a good time for your bore snake a few times.
6. Bore snake or not, I will keep running patches through until they are clean.
7. Finally run a final patch with hoppes gun grease down the barrel to preserve.
8. The final patch down the barrel I will use to rub down the outside of the rifle to ensure it wont rust.

I am in some deep problems: I am living in a rather bad neighborhood in England (crimes happen here around all the time, and have exploded in the last few years), and suffer from both congestive heart failure and severe asthma. I would love to train martial arts to defend myself, but my doctors have told me, that my body is too weak for such training (and that it could injure me). Also, I can’t carry either a gun or a knife with me, because the government has banned both weapons in public. Many criminals around here carry weapons of the size of a machete. I can neither move (I am currently a student) nor hire a bodyguard. I was wondering whether you can help me and give me some advice what I can do to protect myself better. Are there tactics, non-lethal weapons and technologies that could help me that I haven’t seen yet or that are available in other counties?

Anybody conceal carry to an anime or furry convention? Personal experiences, thoughts, comments? Sorry if this is the wrong place to be asking this but, I didn't want to ask /cgl/ because they're a bunch of sissy cucklords in pink dresses that would obviously disagree with any real firearm usage at any given time.
I also wanted to know your thoughts on prop weapons at any type of convention (anime, gaming, historical, whatever.) Should it be allowed, limited, no weapons at all?
One time I CCd chlorine gas at a furry convention. People took it the wrong way so I imagine doing it with a gun would be even worse.

I saw an ad in a gun magazine recently about Walther making new PPK's (with the quote "The Return of a Legend") from their new American factory but can't find anything about when they come out.
I talked with my FFL/gun dealer licenser whatever and a guy on a phone yesterday about from NC from a shop I'm getting a CDS from about it any they know about it but don't have a date yet.
Any info on them and sidequestion: my local FFL has a new S&W Stainless PPK/s (with the making dot near the hammer as a sign of it being fixed from early safety drop issue being fixed) comes with some laser grips on it and the originals as well. Could probably get it for 500-550ish. Should I get it or just wait for the new ones?

Depends, we don't know what they will look like. I think if they wanna sell them, they should not try and compete with other carry guns. We all know people like it because of the bond movies, or because of its history in the german military and police. So just roll mark them to look like the older production ones, use the old grips, and don't slap S&W on em.

I don't have the ad on me atm but in it they looked the same as the old ones. Main thing about the new ones is just they will actually be made in the U.S. by Walther now.

Battle of The Nations is a medieval tournament that pits two national sides together, usually fighting with swords and shields, but other weapons are allowed too. Right now it is women's 1v1 duel. Later there will be males and team fights.
Awesome sport, been training with Team Havoc, one of the Aussie teams since late last year. Putting an order for Armour in after BOTN is over.

She used to have an old Colt .32NP revolver, which she liked because it was an old classic yet kinda disliked because it was small and piddly, but she had to sell it a while back. I'm thinking I might get her a replacement for Christmas or something... I've got a while until then. I'm thinking she might enjoy a .45ACP as a larger round might be easier for her to load and help her feel more confident if heaven forbid she needs to use it.
She does know her way around guns and can shoot my .357 without any trouble, so I'm not too worried about recoil or anything like that. Kinda considering a Glock 21 at this pint but any other suggestions would be nice too. If any get a lot of praise I'll maybe show them to her and see if they appeal to her, but I'd kinda like to keep the fact that I'm actually purchasing one for her a surprise if I am waiting for the holidays.
Any thoughts?
