Its an Gewehr 98 that has been made to look like the Carcano Carbines. Its most likely a place holder until there model can be complete. If you look at this pic you can see the area where the Rollercoaster sight should be, it also has a Mauser flag safety

Have you ever played Battlefield? It's a large-scale multiplayer game, so none of the stuff you mentioned really makes sense.
It's a heavily multiplayer-biased game and there's almost zero chance of any superpower fuckery or anything, because there's not really any such thing as a "protag" in a BF game. (Aside from the campaign that nobody cares about.)
I actually appreciate the "niggers" in the trailer, because it means the game is actually going to feature the Ottoman front and other parts of WWI that everybody usually forgets about. I assume they're just highlighting them in the trailer because it's a unique thing.
Honestly it'll probably be a lot like BF1942, where there are way too many SMGs and LMGs on the battlefield and soldiers can tank too much damage, and a random LMG gunner can somehow fly a plane on the spur of the moment, but it'll otherwise be relatively authentic.
What worries me more is the talk of pilot and tanker classes, which implies to me that they're going the Battlefront route and making vehicles something you have to spawn into. That was one of the things that pissed me off about SWBF, because the ability to freely flow from infantry to vehicle combat and back was a major defining feature of the series. Sure, it was unrealistic, but it was also a lot of what made BF fun.
