Hi /k/,

I was wondering, how does your family react to you owning firearms/weapons? I live on my own, but my mother refuses to come see me unless I "get rid of the guns". Almost everyone on my mother's side unanimously agrees that I'm not to be allowed to family events... and I was disinvited from my grandnother's funeral last week. I showed up anyways, but the fact that they're trying to push me away from my cousins and my (now deceased) grandmother is disgusting. Is this abnormal? I thought America was supposed to be land of the free, not land of "cut familial ties because your mother disagrees politically".

Does anybody else have family that doesn't see them/openly dislikes you owning firearms? Or is your family just pretty cool about it.

Mind you, this all started about a month ago when I posted a video of me competing in a 3gun competition. I actually scored pretty high for having no competition shooting experience.

you family is a bunch of cunts, they should love you and accept you no matter what. especially something as common as owning guns.

I still live with my parents, I am 20 and I wanted to get a gun, my parents are okay with it, but my older brother is anti gun and he has tried to kill himself before so I am not sure if I want a gun. Like if somebody broke into the house and I had a gun it would be locked behind 2 doors so its futile anyways.

My family is kinda fudd-lite. They're all for deregulation of full autos and supressors, but all they really like are hunting rifles.

They're all extremely pro-gun

KCI glock 15 rounders going for $5.14(they add 3%) per mag
http://www.centerfiresystems.com/magglo9-02.aspx

>Do they work?
Yes, I own 5, I just bought 7 more. No mods necessary.

Tested in both a 3rd gen and a 4th gen 19.

Also, they have extra freedom capacity for $10.30 per mag

>Do they work?
Yes, I own 8. You do need to dremel out the mag catch a bit in order for it to stay locked in when you fire, but other than that it works fine. Great for the range or any rifle that takes glock mags.

http://www.centerfiresystems.com/search.aspx?find=maggl

Shipping is $10 per order, unless you order ammo or a gun or some other shit. If you buy over 100 dollars worth of stuff, shipping is free.

How about a handgun under 300?

Ya, gonna have to agree with the first post. My Glock 19 cam with an old LEO mag, and two KCIs. They work, but only if I load about 13 max. They are the only mags to ever make my glock hiccup. Thanks for trying to look out though.

Thread for the upcoming THREE DAY MEET IN /k/ommandoville!
For those unaware, on Saturday, April 30th, 8 /k/ommandos scouted a location in Plumas County for an upcoming Fri-Sat-Sun meetup in an ABANDONED MINE and
GHOST TOWN. This scouting meet was successful, with locations for shooting, parking, and camping found. Several buildings have been determined safe for use
during the trip, including the 3-story Miners' Hotel seen in some pictures, as well as some smaller log cabins throughout the area.
Preexisting fire pits and future latrine locations have also been determined. Calls to the relevant authorities have confirmed that SHOOTING and CAMPING are ALLOWED in this location as long as shooting takes place 150 yards from the closest road or structure and you follow common sense rules.
This scouting meet did encounter trouble. We encountered several fallen trees on the road, which we will deal with via winches and chainsaws on Friday.
Mud and snow also proved to be an issue, but at the end of June this will no longer be a fear of ours. We will have the equipment to attempt to tow anybody who gets stuck
and markers will be posted along the mountain portion of the route so nobody who misses the /k/onvoy gets lost on his own. 2 wheel drive cars should easily be able to manage this dirt road, but if you don't want to get your car dusty carpool from one of the /k/onvoy points.

WHAT TO BRING:
Food and water to sustain yourself for as long as you intend to stay. Food for the group also -deeply- appreciated.
Sleeping bag, pad, or cot. Tent for those who don't wish to utilize the buildings, most of which are safe. (Some are sketchy, but most are solid.)
Clothing appropriate for late-June in the northern Sierras, warm during the day and cool in the evening. Canteen and backpack suggested.
TARGETS, we're gonna need tons, and they can be made from nearly anything.
TRASH BAGS or CANS for cleanup of the above afterwards, as well as disposal of all trash we create during this meet.
FIREARMS and AMMUNITION in bulk are -definitely- requested but -NOT- required, noguns are welcome and will be given a chance to shoot.
FRS radio to communicate with the rest of the /k/onvoy on the road and just in case at the meet. Radios will be used for calling a halt if somebody needs to piss, calling out road hazards and
directions, and general chatter between vehicles. If you don't own one ask in Slack for advice on which one to get. Several /k/ommandos will have spares if you don't want to get one.
RANGE SAFETY:
During every shoot, EVERYONE is responsible for making sure everybody is behaving safely, some of us will take turns to watch out for anyone going full retard. No -really- autistic range rules here, rapid
fire is permitted and magdumps will be held. Noguns will be under the loving tutelage of experienced /k/ommandos. People who screw up will be corrected, people who screw up hard will be corrected harder.

THE PLAN:
On Friday, the setup day, a /k/onvoy will be assembled and proceed north to Plumas County from the assembly point in Lodi, where anons from further south will be
able to park their cars for the weekend and shift gear and bodies to vehicles going the whole way.
The carpool schedule is as follows:
The /k/onvoy assembles in Lodi, CA around 10am
The /k/onvoy makes a scheduled stop at the Burger King in Oroville for refueling and lunch
And finally, the /k/onvoy will arrive at the site mid afternoon, and proceed with all the joy and merriment and such. SEE SLACK FOR MORE INFORMATION AND EXACT LOCATION.
Once the /k/onvoy arrives at the site, we will park, unload, and set up camp equipment for the evening. A short, evening shoot will be had before dinner.
On Saturday, the shooting range opens in earnest, and a hike will be go out for anons so inclined. Meals will be cooked and eaten in camp, and we will
be packing up on Sunday.
SATURDAY CONVOY FOR WAGEKEKS:
A smaller /k/onvoy is being organized for those who aren't NEETs and work for a living. Saturday morning there will be a guide in Quincy and Taylorsville for
you to follow.
IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE ON EITHER DAY, SAY SO ON SLACK. TRANSPORT TEAM WILL STAND BY FOR YOU.
Also, everything is subject to change, shit happens.

Also holy damn this is the biggest OP post for a meet we've ever done.
>>
And at long last, to join Slack, post a burner email and we'll add you in and give you all that sweet info and answer any questions you may have.

Unfortunately for FN SOCOM dropped the transition program. Its still a good gun but it's far too overpriced for little gained over the AR platform.

It’s time for another episode of /k/ Planes! This time, we’ll be looking at the bombers of the United States Air Force.

Soon after the Second World War came to an end, the Army Air Forces broke off completely from the Army, forming an entirely new branch known as the Air Force. As Cold War tensions rapidly ramped up, the Air Force soon found itself on the forefront of this standoff, using their nuclear-armed bombers to serve as a deterrent. With the bombers of the Strategic Air Command being the only way of delivering nukes in the early years of the Cold War, bomber development unsurprisingly ramped up. By the mid-50s, SAC had begun programs for everything from Mach 3 intercontinental bombers to nuclear-powered aircraft. However, just as bomber development was peaking, massive doctrinal changes set in. The advent of surface-to-air missiles killed the concept of a high-speed, high-altitude bomber, forcing SAC to hastily adopt a low-altitude approach to avoid detection by enemy air defenses. More critically, the development of ICBMs was seen by many to make strategic bombers no longer necessary. SAC would manage to hold onto its bombers, but overall bomber development ground to a halt. For the remainder of the Cold War, bomber programs would be few and far between, and they would be continually hampered by politics. Fortunately, the USAF’s strategic bombers have survived the dissolution of SAC in 1992, and, though the current fleet is rapidly aging, current plans to procure new bombers seem to be fairly secure.

In 1940, the USAAF issued requirements for a new light bomber to succeed the A-20. Douglas, capitalizing on their success with the bomber, designed a new machine along the same lines as the A-20 making use of various major advances in technology. The new bomber used the same three-man crew and general layout, but a new laminar-flow wing was developed and more powerful Pratt & Whitney Double Wasps were mounted, allowing for vastly improved armament. Two remotely operated twin-.50 turrets were installed in dorsal and ventral positions for defense, while the glazed nose had two flexible guns for the bombardier. Internal payload capacity increased to 3,000lb, while external hardpoints provided space for another 2,000lb. The first prototype flew in October 1941, followed by a night-fighter prototype outfitted with a radar in the nose and a ventral cannon pack. The third prototype followed the pattern set by B-25 attackers, fitting a 75mm cannon in the nose.

While the latter two prototypes would not enter production, the original design was a smashing success. Carrying double the payload specified, it still managed to come in 700lb under the projected weight. The bomber was ordered into production as the A-26B, with the first production variant replacing the glazed nose with a solid nose fitted with six machineguns. Production of the A-26B began in 1943. With an emphasis placed on ground-attack, the bomber was soon fitted with four underwing blisters each holding two .50s, and later production variants would expand the nose armament to hold a total of eight (rather than the original six) machineguns.
>>
>>29856708
The A-26 was first deployed to the 5th Air Force in the Pacific, making its debut in July 1944 over New Guinea. Unfortunately, operational evaluations found the cockpit to be poorly designed, so the A-20 persisted with frontline units. Only after major changes to the canopy and armament took effect in early 1945 did pilots in the Pacific really start to accept the bomber. The 7th Air Force began receiving the bomber in March 1945, opening up operations from Okinawa into China and Japan. Unfortunately, the delays in acceptance of the A-26 meant that it wouldn’t see too much use in the Pacific. Apart from the sole bomb group flying the type off of Okinawa, it appears that most other units flying the A-26 in the Pacific were composites also operating the B-25 or A-20.
