Any way to get one of these beautiful guns? It's basically my holy grail at this point to find. I'm willing to spend 1,500-2,000 yet I can't find a seller that doesn't high ball or have bidding online. Sucks they stopped imports long ago of these, any way to petition to Finnish government to send us some of their surplus ones? I mean they have rifles in both 556 and 762 might as well pick a caliber or just modernize.

only SCAR and MG3 that came with the Leopards shoot 5.56. And we arent letting go of any of our RK62 or RK95 because we dont have surplus, but rather we dont have enough of either of them. Sako still might have some parts of the production line stashed somewhere, but you would need to petition Beretta to start making them again and with exporting them to America being a pain in the ass and market for rifles like this being small in Europe there is basically a no chance of you getting new one, ever.

Is the Mosin Nagant truly the best shooter for the money?
I thought Mosins were just a meme but once I started looking into buying a bolt-action rifle, I realized that it's not easy finding a decent rifle that can shoot all day without overheating. Not unless you want to spend an asston of money.
Do I go for a Ruger American? Or a hex M39?

Actually it is easy. Just go with milsurp guns instead of bench queens. The Mosin Nagant will survive nearly anything but make damn sure you get the bolt working smoothly every time before you take it in the woods.

Fun gun. Accurate, good irons, great history, heavy...though it is a battle rifle.
Price of ammo and mags will aggravate you over time regardless of how much money you have. Buy in bulk if possible. There is still very good surplus floating around but don't overpay for it. Unfortunately its been so long since I've purchased 7.62Nato in bulk that I don't know what "overpay" means any longer.

So I bought an Ishapore 2a 1965 7.62 NATO a few days ago. I posted a thread but I still have an issue that I haven't found much about online.
When chambering a new round (loading one at a time because magazine spring is dead) it is very difficult to lock bolt into battery.. I've heard about screwing the bolt head farther down?
Also it has a pretty nasty coat of black paint all over it and it's dirty. I know I want to clean it and I've read a few different ways to do so, but should i also strip the paint and re-coat? Pic related is a gun with...

Haven't used that one. I had a $100 red dot that broke on the first round of .223 so that wouldn't do any better most likely. Svae for a vortex.

I run BSA pmrgs on a 12g slug gun and .308 but they are cheap where im at. The bushnell trs 25 has always been recommended to me.

First time I shot an AR, it had a trs on it. They're great little sights, but they just don't look right on a full size rifle. I would highly recommend them.

For having worked for a French company, I can say that Frenchs love red tape. Nothing gets done without overcomplicated, overthought and tedious directives/processes. Why aren't they? Was at my LGS and was looking over a S&W 910 and loved everything about it except for the fact that the mag release is not reversible. Why? Like I get that we are only 10% of the population (this number is growing however because there are no longer nuns hitting your hands until you use your right hand) but wouldn't it make sense for firearms to be ambi all the time or at least convertible for a lefty.
For me, I can think of several reasons why they should be ambi:

Bows are more of a precision weapon, slings are easier to train people to use and they have more range, but less accurate than a bow in the hands of a trained sharpshooter
Assuming you know how to hit something:
Pro:
Since hunting arrowheads turn into rotating blades once you fire a rock might leave more intact meat when hunting small game.
Also, the longer and sturdyer the sling, the further you can shoot. Or you can use bigger rocks.
It's easier to find fitting rocks then making fitting arrows
Cons:
Penetration kills larger targets better then bashing, because hits to not vital areas will still lead to a lot more blood loss.
Bow formations can be packed tighter with more shooters per area.

Okay /k/ommandos, I have some extra money and I'm considering either an FN Five Seven or a Dan Wesson 1911 in 9mm. (already have two in .38 Super so don't mention that option)
Why not a HiPower? Because I already have 4 and I'm trying to decide between a Five Seven pistol or a 1911 in 9mm. And before anyone mentions it, I have access to "green tip" (IE red box) 5.7x28mm.

Total side note, I got confused when I first saw this webm in another thread because I read something out of context and thought this was footage from the latest MGS game. When you convince yourself you're looking at a video game it actually looks really uncanny because of the video degradation.
