does the ATF consider the barrel the part of the firearm with a rifled bore or is bore length and barrel length different in the eyes of the ATF?
if somebody makes an AR with a a 10 inch bore with a 6 inch faux suppressor, is that still considered a 16 inch barrel?
all i understand is that the ATF measures the length of the tube of the receiver of a firearm from the end to the bolt face.
tl;dr what is the legal definition of "barrel" and "bore"

yes as long as it's permanently attached
I believe the faux suppressor would work if it was welded to the barrel since 14.5 inch barrels are good to go with a muzzle device pinned and welded.

i know on the kel tec SU series rifles, they submitted one with like a 15 inch barrel but it had a 1 inch muzzle device and the ATF said it was a 16 inch barrel, even though the actual barrel was 15 inches

And regularly practice your draw while disengaging that manual safety. You want the muscle memory to take over when you have to reach for your gun, because your brain won't remember shit.

For a bolt rifle?
Remove bolt and wipe down with a solvent. Dump a pot full of hot water down the barrel, let dry, then clean and oil as normal

Hiya /k/unts, newly hasguns here. Picked up this Mak IJ-70 18A just today, as well as 550 rounds of HP and FMJ. Can anybody recommend me a good IWB holster? Also Makarov thread I guess.

You didn't really get fucked. I think you paid an amount close to market value (for reference, even though a Bulgarian isn't necessarily as valuable as Russian made gun, J&G is selling Bulgarian Maks for $300). A year or two ago I bought a Bulgarian Mak with 3 mags and 300 rds of ammo for $420 because no one else was selling them for a reasonable price in Oregon that I could get to. Meanwhile there were posters here buying them in more proliferated states buying the same thing for half that. Getting a gun really cheap is a function of where you live, how good you are at haggling and how responsive your seller is to haggling.
Is it worse to be shot in the head or through the heart? Which is more fatal? If you had to choose where to be shot, where would you take it? How about the most painful?
not everything in a head is strictly vital, and the skull is a bone with a complex shape.

Hello /k/, i just got an old coach gun from my grandmother. The triggers and hammers work but I cant get it open. The fucker has been through Louisiana's version of Katrina and was then tossed in a shed and forgotten. Any ideas to open it? Also sorry about the auto rotate in advance.

Smash the barrels against a tree for a minute or two then try again.Repeat as necessary, if any bending occurs stop and hold the barrels while hitting the stock against the tree instead.

Soon I'll be buying a Remington New Model Army. It'll be my first cap and ball revolver. Is there anything I need to know about these before I buy? I know I need no. 10 caps, a powder measure, .44 balls and patches. Anything else I need?
Ballistol and water is the best mixture I've found to clean up black powder residue... you can just dump the disassembled pistol into a vat of it for a few minutes and wipe it down if you feel like being lazy.
Also recommend a conversion cylinder and some .45LC rounds for convenient everyday shooting.

Always clean the cap nipples after firing; people tend to forget that and then they corrode into place.
Also, patches are unnecessary if you use a .454 ball, as the shaved lead will seal the front of the chamber. Some oiled patches or bore butter makes the fouling a lot easier to get out but isn't necessary to prevent chainfires as long as you have tight caps and balls.
