Federal is okay. I like their pistol ammo. Love their shotgun ammo, and avoid their rifle ammo.

None aside from some potential psychological impacts. It's more about the munitions than the platform to some extent. You could fuck up a few people's days with your hydra pods and maybe your handful of hellfires would do some damage but after that you really wouldn't be much use. Maybe you could find some way of communicating targeting information from your longbow radome to help with counter-battery fire but comms would be a bitch and a half.

How do you shoot a pistol with both eyes open and you're cross eye dominate?
When shooting an m4 with irons or optics, it is no issue with both my eyes open.
However it's weird with a pistol, some say move your head over...however miculek coaches to keep your head squared and bring the pistol straight up to your eye for fastest draw time.
What is your technique?

Jelous about your rifle ability. The second I open my left eye might sight picture disappears. I have to concentrate for like 1 to 2 minutes to get it back and even then I lose it after a couple seconds

Starting to think M193 is the best overall 5.56mm ammunition to stock up on, but want to hear /k/'s opinion.

mk262 is probably the best you can buy "in bulk". If you reload the best you could probably do it a 55gr barnes tsx with 25 gr of Varget or Ramshot Tac behind it.
If you just want shit to shot, wolf Gold M193 is pretty hard to beat.

That said CIA Draco or PAP M92. Both are from Century but are assembled from imported parts. So the quality in parts is there but Century build quality can be meh.

HPR ammo problems, so I got a few boxes of this shit, and shot it for a few ranges sessions, and I am getting a lot of jams with it. I am using a glock 23 gen 3 and I have 5 mags. When I went today 4/5 mags jammed with every 4th round, when I switched over to some federal ammo, not a single problem.
Any one else having problems with HPR?

My guess it's loaded colder than normal ammo. I had the same problem when I bought some .44 mag for my desert eagle. Not enough power. Would short stroke on every shot. Granted the DE needs hot ammo to function, but this stuff definitely did not have the power to cycle the action.

So I took my Century Arms VZ2008 out to the range and have put a total of around 300 rounds through it. When I was cleaning it I found that there was what appeared to be excessive wear on the rails the bolt rides on. This can't be normal wear for this rifle right? Should I be worried at all about this?
does the bolt move freely in the gun without noticeable friction/hangup? if so, then just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt wear more (i doubt it will)

Well the bolt will hang up half way closed if you let the bolt down softly, but that was an issue from day 1. Other than that it's fine in that regard. My concern is that this wear is pretty substantial (when you run your finger over it you can feel the loss of metel) for only having like 300 rounds through it.

I've had a vz2008 completely size after only 1k rds. They are hit or miss. The vz58 is like a totally different rifle. If you have a chance to get one, grab it.
Luckily, I was able to sell my 2008 for what I paid (after 'fixing it, the best I could).
Sometimes you find a great one. Alot of times you get a turd rifle.
And this is coming from a huge fan of czechnology.

Is it weird that if I want a revolver with larger caliber ammo and a pistol in smaller caliber ammo simply because that's how it always is in video games, and thus feels right?

I bought a Beretta M9 partially because of Resident Evil. I didn't care for the gun much so I sold it and stopped buying guns based on video games. Even now playing video games that use guns I own in real life gives me no feels whatsoever.
