why wasn't this thing replicated or reproduced? it seems like such an amazing looking weapon. Are the patents just not available for licensing? I would devote a good chunk of my time just making copies for kommandos with some pocket change to spare. maybe like 200 a piece or something. legally of course with a license to drill.

But whatever, it's just fucking awesome.

Is there any way to prevent this? Starting to conceal carry soon and I'm most likely going to be in the habit of constantly chambering and rechambering whenever I come home and dryfire practice.

I would imagine slowly chambering a round riding the slide instead of slingshotting the slide back home can prevent this, any truth to it?

The less you shower the less prone you are to acne. We bathe a lot more than people back in the day. Washing the natural oils from our face increases cases of acne. So does drinking milk. A common staple in almost all homes.

So they are good for small game obviously but what sort of air rifle do you need to take deer? Are there militant uses for compress air guns outside of hunting? Any brands one should look at if one were interested in buying one?

Are mosin nagants really a good rifle? From what I've seen, they're dependable, rugged, accurate, and durable rifles. Cabelas makes ammunition for them for a decent price and I can get one for about $150. Should I, or shouldn't I? I'm 19, live with my parents in Pennsylvania, may or may not move to Ohio in a few years, and this is my first gun purchase. I have experience with firearms, including bolt action rifles

no, they aren't. stop this fucking meme.

They are an economical weapon. That's it. It's the only reason the russians used it. It was just barely reliable and accurate enough, and had a big military round that could be damaging in some way against other armies at the time.

every other fucking bolt action that other armies used at the time were much better. mauser, springfield, enfield etc
>>
>>29981914
not inherently awful but their biggest selling point was they were a full size rifle that cost 20-26cents a round to shoot. Surplus has dried up and with the wars in the mideast and instability in the baltics it will likley never be very cheap again.

So that all said, not a bad rifle but they and their ammo are nearing the price at which you are better off just picking up a run of the mill cheap deer rifle. It will most likely be more accurate, have a better action and cost about the same to shoot.

If you want one because they are old and have some history to them get one though.
>>
>>29981914
They just fine.

There's a backlash against the meme but they're fine weapons. 54r is plenty good, and decent examples of the gun will shoot 1.5-2 MOA.

They can still be had for cheap, and although 54r isn't as cheap as it used to be... it's still plenty cheap

Should someone be thanked for their military service no matter what they did post-service?

If yes then would it be wrong to thank Hitler for his service in WW1?
19 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>29981884
you don't have to thank someone for their service at all unless you personally think their service was meaningful. I mean these days it's your own choice to join the military and I really don't give a shit about all the operations the military is involved in. I'm not gonna thank someone who voluntarily signed up to kill goat fuckers in Afghanistan.
>>
>>29981884
No one should have an obligation to thank someone and no one should be so butthurt when someone doesn't thank you

All right /k/, what the hell is this thing? I found it in a pawn shop in town. Its a 7mm mauser but has a weird ass tube on top that looks almost like it slips on the end of the barrel which is a little chamfered but I don't think the tube on top actually comes out. The thing doesn't have sights on it so is it some sort of weird mauser close quarters sight or something?

I have a local shop that has a huge ass load of C&R and class 3 stuff so I figured they know from the pic. They have no idea what it is. Any ideas?

Help me /k/
They are building new low income housing in my neighborhood because my town doesn't meet the same "diversity quota" as the neighboring areas. So long story short they're importing niggers and I can't afford to move. I want a self defense gun but I'm not sure if what I have will be OK. My only concealable gun is a .38 detective special similar to pic related. The scary part for me though is that I bought it off a trucker I met and it has no papers with it and I don't see a serial number anywhere on it. So if I am forced to use it will I be in big trouble for that? Should I just get papers for it? Am I better off to just buy a new gun? Will this even be practical for self defense against the spooks?

Yes you are fucked, but thankfully this is a hypothetical scenario
Now your hypothetical revolver may be rated for +p and that'll definitely be enough to stop someone
And yes you should buy a new gun, .380 or .38+p is the lowest I'd go

/k/ i come to you for help

I recently bought my first gun, a Ruger GP100 revolver, which I truly love.

However, now, I want to graduate to tactical survival SHTF gun. I am leaning toward Ruger rifles just cuz I'm comfortable with the Ruger name now.

But I know that /k/ knows what is really good and can guide me in the correct direction

plz help and thank you

Your GP100 is already a decent SHTF gun. Get a .357mag carbine to complement it so you only need to stockpile one kind of ammo.

What would you recommend senpai
>>
>>29981590

First of all, a GP100 ain't a bad weapon for many roles, and for a realistic SHTF scenario would be good.

However, if you're leaning towards a rifle, are you thinking bolt action or semi-automatic? Intermediate cartridge or full power?
