They aren't. Literally the worst adjustment

A1s are KISS as fuck, and the a4 is the a2 with the option for good optics mounting and good weapon light mounting.

Why aren't airships more common for airlift and replenishment?

They cost a hell of a lot less, more can be supported with a similar amount of people, they carry more and are more economical.

I understand planes when used for fast response. But continuous replenishment should be an airship only job.

Hey /k/.

How about a thread about the worst of the worst?

The most fucked up examples of firearms to ever leave the factory. Be it shitty workmanship, bewildering design decisions or just abject failure.

If your favorite gun is posted and you get butthurt, you're too easily trolled. But please, do try to keep it on-topic, guys.

To start things off, the relatively unknown Crossfire Mk1. It's a pump-action combo gun (.223 and 12 gauge) that no one asked for and everyone knew would be trash except for the guys making it. Heavy, expensive, clunky, ugly and an all around disaster. It's only worth buying as an oddity you forever leave in your safe.

Next up, the "Zip gun".

This little bugger makes no sense. Why would you want to mount a .22lr pistol onto your rifle or shotgun? Why would you put the charging handle in front of the gun DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BARREL?

Worse yet, the bolt, being made of polymer, is so light weight that almost all of the work in this straight-blowback POS is done by the springs. This means the bolt moves so god damned fast that even Ruger's own magazines are too slow to keep up. You'd figure they would have figured that out in testing, right? Apparently not.

Uncomfortable, of dubious utility and barely functional, this thing was dead on arrival. You would almost be better off with the cheap, home-made single shot "zip guns" people have been making for several decades.

Or how about the now infamous INSAS rifle?

An AK derivative produced by India to be their main service rifle, the INSAS has proven to be a failure in every way conceivable. Inaccurate, unreliable, inconsistent manufacturing... The rivets never seem to be in the same locations from one rifle to another, they have been known to spray oil into the face of the operator, the magazines crack in cold temperature... Every single corner there was to cut has been cut and the result is a firearm that still ends up costing significantly more than it is worth.

Good thing India is replacing it... With a modified version of it called the Excalibur, with changes like having an AR style stock instead...

Now this one might actually piss some people off...

The SPAS-12 has been a staple in movies, tv shows, comics and videogames for decades... But was it any good?

No. No it wasn't.

The gimmick was that it could function in semi-automatic or pump-action if the rounds were too weak to cycle it properly.

Released with a dangerous flaw that caused the gun to fire when flipping the safety, a mechanism that destroys itself without the addition of rubber buffers in the back of the receiver (which have a tendency to degrade), the ergonomics of a brick and a ridiculous price tag made this shotgun little more than an interesting movie prop.

This is the new general thread for California meetups, as we have a couple different things coming up, these threads will usually be posted up on Fridays, but this one is going up early.

UPCOMING MEETUPS:

Tuesday, June 7th at the Sunnyvale Rod and Gun range in Cupertino, CA.

Friday, June 24th to Sunday, June 26th at a ghost town near Quincy, CA.

Seperate SoCal meetup in planning stages.

>Why no really specific info for the Quincy meet?

If you are interested in coming out to the Quincy meet we'd much rather you join our Slack channel, where we can coordinate carpool and who-brings-what in depth, these things take a lot of coordination with this meet taking a lot in particular.

To join Slack, either post a burner in this thread or send an email to kbrandoncali -at- gmail.com.

Our new meetup schedule is likely to be:

Monthly range meets centered in the Bay Area, either at the Cupertino or Livermore ranges

Big overnight events on BLM land every 3 months, possibly alternating between Northern, Valley, and SoCal locations.

GHOST TOWN MEET INFO

THE PLAN:

On Friday, the setup day, a /k/onvoy will be assembled and proceed north to Plumas County from the assembly point in Lodi, where anons from further south will be
able to park their cars for the weekend and shift gear and bodies to vehicles going the whole way. It is requested you bring a two-way radio to communicate with the
rest of the /k/onvoy, but one will be provided if you do not own one. Radios will be used for calling a halt if somebody needs to piss, calling out road hazards and
directions, and general chatter between vehicles.

The carpool schedule is as follows:

The /k/onvoy assembles in Lodi, CA, in the parking lot of Denny's earlier than 10:00 AM, and departs at 10:30 AM. Address is 701 E Kettleman Ln

The /k/onvoy makes a scheduled stop at the Burger King in Oroville for refueling and lunch, arriving around noon. Address is 855 Oro Dam Blvd E

And finally, the /k/onvoy will arrive at the site around 2:30 PM, and proceed with all the joy and merriment and such. SEE SLACK FOR MORE INFORMATION AND EXACT LOCATION.

Once the /k/onvoy arrives at the site, we will park, unload, and set up camp equipment for the evening. A short, evening shoot will be had before dinner.
On Saturday, the shooting range opens in earnest, and a hike will be organized for anons so inclined. Meals will be cooked and eaten in camp, and we will
be packing up on Sunday evening.

Got questions? Ask em.

Now this is a monthly meet that Wumbo is heading up, and it's a great place to start coming if you've never been to a meetup in general or the California meets in particular. He's going to be there from noon 'till 8PM for those who work for a living, just look for the lanky fella wearing nothing but flecktarn.

The US Army will move ahead with a tender to replace the M9 with the Modular Handgun System.

Down select for three manufacturers later this year. No word on calibre, but it seems it'll either be 9x19mm or .40 S&W.

Those offering:

Beretta - APX
CZ - P-09
FN Herstal - Five-Seve Mk 2
Glock - Glock 17/22
SIG Sauer - P320
Smith & Wesson - MP

Which three would you down select?

I live in a cucked country where owning pic related is impossible, however, through word of mouth I heard people have been buying airsoft guns and scrapping the internals and replacing them with ruger 10/22 internals essentially making the 10/22 into whatever gun they want. Now my question is: is this safe? I know plinkers aren't that powerful but I had an airsoft gun in highschool and they didn't feel very solid. After a little research I found out that they make pic related in airsoft but with a full metal body, should I do it? What precautions should I take? Is there parts of the gun I should reinforce in the garage some how? Thanks.

That sounds like the kind of thing a noguns would say to other noguns to seem hasguns. If anything I'd say that people are just finding shells that simply fit over a standard 10/22, I've heard of people doing something similar with toy guns & pocket pistols.

I'm pretty sure that someone makes a .22LR MP5 copy, you may as well get that instead of dicking around with toys.

I own an sks. But that's besides the point.
Nobody makes 22lr clones of that where i live which is the whole reason I made this thread.
