Hello /k/,

I don't make threads a lot but I need to know something. Which shows or movies have scenes that make you cringe or rage because they depict gun owners extremely negatively?

Hard mode: No anti-gun documentaries like every single micro-second of Bowling for Columbine.

Mainly for me, it's the gun shop scene in Borat. While it's not targeting gun owners directly it's basically Cohen saying (through the scene) "I'm using this scene to make gun-owning Americans look like stupid racist fucks"

I know it's suppose to be a comedy but I think this scene was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

Post a picture of your favorite firearm that you own, how you got it, and why you like it so much! Images don't necessarily have to be ones you've taken yourself, but try to find a picture that represents your gun well.

I'll begin: Remington 870 Wingmaster from the 70s

Grandpa gave it to me when I first got into guns, love it because its action is smooth as silk and points like an arrow

Let's keep the /k/ thread going. Does the DP-12 appear in any games?
My buddy has this DP-12 shotgun. This thing is a monster. I'm no advocate for gun control, but there is no reason a civilian needs this thing. 16 rounds of 12GA ready to go at any time in a compact double barrel frame. Nobody needs that, but God damn is it fun to shoot. It does a good job of absorbing recoil; given its Bullpup design, everything from the hand grip back is essentially recoil springs, ending in a nice rubber butt plate. 12GA magnum rounds will still hit you hard, but anything less feels pretty good to shoot. Target loads feel like shooting a .22lr.

We actually got booted off the trap range at our gun club for shooting this thing there. Apparently being up there with 16 rounds ready to fly in just a few seconds is frowned upon.

Scar 17

Or...

AR in .300blk
and
Bolt action in .308

I've probably got about 5-7k to spend on one or the other, meaning I could outfit either with decent optics.

I just can't decide.

Why not build an AR in whatever cal. You want AND an AR10? With all dat dough, you can make some pretty high tier shooters.
>>
>>30449375
For some reason the stock on the scar ruins it for me, also I dont think the gun looks pretty, its just a bit to tall imo, it looks bigger than it needs to be, I like an ar-15. Idk about the 300blk part unless you are going to be putting a silencer on it, but do as you please

do you already own any guns? an ar? an ar in 223?
>>
>>30449414
Not really interested in an AR-10 much.

Looking to get into reloading. I'd like to load .40 S&W a bit longer OAL to 1.180" to 1.200". I know everybody says to start with a single stage press for load workup. Any reason why I can't go straight to a progressive to save time?
139 posts and 21 images submitted.
>>
>>30448714
Yuo can easily do load workup on progressives.
The recommendation for as single stage is less things happening at once mean yo can pay more attention to each detail as you go. NOt really an issue if you go slow and careful to start. Single stage is still handy to deprime to keep grit out of the mechanism of the progressive
>>
>>30448740

Any preferred progressives? I might want the flexibility to do .223 and pistol calibers.
>>
>>30448740

also what about doing your depriming with a hand tool vs a single stage?

Alright /k/ommandos, I'm curious to see how logical you see this picture I found while scrolling through my friend's Instagram to be? Do you disagree with it, or do you actually agree with what they have to say, and if so, why?

My thoughts: if she had a gun, she might have killed the nazi

No, anon.
The point was that it would have never gotten to that point if they'd not given up their guns.
During the first little bit, word actually managed to leak of the concentration camps, and Jews did attempt to flee.

However they were unable to make an armed attempt to revolt/defend themselves because lolguncontrol'sfinedudes
>>
lack of guns wasn't what killed them, it was the anti-semitism.

They weren't considered citizens, or even people. The majority rule of the nation blamed them for losing WW1 as well as the financial strain the country endured and whatever real or perceived slights.

If the Jews had revolted, it would have only reinforced the german majority opinion of them, and likely led to their (more rapid) extermination.

For me, it only comes down to the fact that I would rather die on my feet, than on my knees.

But death would still be the likely end result, regardless.
>>
>>30447631
Ahhh okay, thanks for the clarification anon. See, I misunderstood the post as an "all guns are bad" propaganda.

it's mostly a redundancy, also a fuck you to helos, and Biafran Babies.

It's max engagement range is 4'000 metres, with projectiles that travel at about 1'500 m/s. But it's effective range is more like <2'400, only achieving probable kill at 200 metres against a AShM.

So at 200 metres, you have supersonic debris hurdling towards the ship.

Against slower targets, like planes, it works. But there's the RIM now, so again, it's mostly a redundancy.

In all truth, just how useful would the armed citizenry be in the event of a full-scale invasion of the United States by a military that isn't loltuskenraider tier?

I live in rural Washington state, and if there is any location in the US that is even slightly susceptible to invasion, it's the Western seaboard.

I love the 2nd Amendment, I love my ARs and all of my guns, and I try to stay in fit condition, but if I'm being honest, if the chinks invaded I don't honestly think there would be a whole lot I could do againsts APCs, tanks, helos, and trained soldiers.

Rifles are scary to all infantry, whether they have vehicle support or not.
Add the American military onto that and it's even scarier.
>>
>>30447111
God help them when they hit the Appalachians, Texas, and most of the south.
>>
>>30447173
I doubt they would get that far. Any incursion onto American soil would likely be very short lived, only until the military regroups and puts the fear of God back into them.
>>30447143
The only use I could really see the armed citizenry being is as snipers. I mean looking at what insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan have done, it'd be dumb to say there wouldn't be results. But unlike them, we don't have RPGs and AA-missiles that were sold to us back in the 1980s. Sure, maybe a couple guys with ARs and hunting rifles could pin down a platoon for a few hours, but only until they radio in air support and blow the whole town to hell.

Alright /k/ I need some help, I want to get a combat/ballistic (whatever the fuck you want to call it) helmet for around 400 bucks. What are my options?
