>This is what happens when the original values for which Captain America stood – American pride and patriotism, defense of Constitutional freedom – become unpopular with the left. They either have to convert Cap to leftism, or make clear that he was the villain all along. Because America must either be converted to leftism, or it was the villain all along. As Brevoort says, “Captain America, because he’s draped head to toe in the flag, has more of a larger, more symbolic meaning than many other characters. In an allegorical fashion, you want to...

Which should I read if I want to get into Spider-Man?
>>83186956
He's a character entirely dependable on continuity, so unless you're willing to read everything from the beginning, don't bother
Or you just could read Ultimate Spider-Man and be done with it
>>83186956
Oh, you just missed Ultimate Spidey. It just got storytimed a few days ago. First time reading it and its pretty awesome.

>He's a character entirely dependable on continuity, so unless you're willing to read everything from the beginning, don't bother
This is what has kept me from reading Spider-Man for so long. While everyone talks about the great runs, there are apparently a number of really terrible ones that are still required reading.
Just finished reading Johns' run on Green Lantern after a friend recommended it. At first the idea of one corps for each color of the rainbow spectrum sounded silly, but the execution was nothing short of amazing. I've seen a lot of spin-offs since then, like Larfleeze, Red Lanterns, New Guardians, etc, and i'm really interested in the other rings. Should i read them or will i be disappointed?
Sinestro's ongoing was fun and I have heard decent things about early Red Lanterns but I haven't read it. Can't speak for the others.
>>83186936
Heard good things about Sinestro, will check it
The rainbow lanterns were where Johns' GL started to fall apart.
Anyone else checking Nick Spencer's mentions on twitter and laughing their asses off?
Anyone who says the guy who wrote Superior Foes of Spider-Man should be fired is a complete and utter moron.

what do you think, is it possible that these are the watchmen repurposed by dr manhattan ?
they're saying that in pic related we have nite owl and silk spectre, or aspects of them as their avatars in the nu52
>>83186782
Who are the Watchmen?
>>83186841
feck
i meant rorshach, ozy, the comedian, nite owl and silk spectre are inspirations for new characters in the nu52

I think it's pure and simple clickbait
Look what shitty edgyness Alan Moore forced Geoff Johns write.
Damn you, Alan Moore! Why must you make Geooff Johns and DC write edgy and shitty stories!
Stop using your wizard magic on them!!!
>still thinking Johns is blaming Moore and not creators (including himself) that took the wrong lessons from Watchmen
He literally confirmed this in interviews already
I don't think Johns is blaming Alan Moore. I think he's blaming everyone who thought Moore's take on superheroes was the only correct one.
Manhattan represents Johns, not Moore. He's the penitent sinner, which is why Manhattan is an antagonist, not a villain.
>mfw I just heard the DJ on the radio badmouth the Hydra Cap change
Is this Marvel's blunder of the century?
>>83186278
That anger and attention is delicious to them so no
>His mission is to further the goals and beliefs of Hydra," explained Brevoort. "If that involves taking down the Marvel universe, sure. (But) it may not be as simple as that. It’s not like he’s exchanged his white hat for a black hat — it’s a green hat. We knew it would be like slapping people in the face. The idea of Captain America means something very primal and very strong to the people of this nation, and they...

It won't work if nobody buys it. This "making fans angry to make more cash" tactic has to stop.
>>83186278
It's all dependent on sales. Brevoort claims that getting readers angry helps sales but it's not actually a guaranteed thing. It's also clouded by the fact they often frontload stuff with variants and exclusive covers.
Characters that remind you of other characters
>Audiences yearn for actually heroic characters in this age where every hack writer thinks he's being subversive and original by writing another anti-hero or making the twist that the good guy is the villain
>Nah's let's just keep doing the same thing we've been doing for close to 30 years over which coincidentally our sales have dangerously decline
They do this shit so much with Superman that I think subversive asshole Superman is basically the default at this point.

Capeshit is the cancer killing comics. Until they die nothing original or creative will happen.
These characters are 60+ years old, I think it's time for them to be retired.

New, original and creative things come out every week. Why don't YOU look past the big two and open something good, leave the big two to the kiddies.

You didn't actually have to read JL and Superman, that was a note for current readers of those books because Rebirth itself contained spoilers for them.
I'm sorry you're retarded and didn't understand this immediately when they included the note.
Wow omg the final issue of a 10 part storyline is confusing if you don't read the first 9 parts. Whodathunk?!?
Fucking retard.

In this Earth Batman and the Joker are mortal enemies, while in this one they are mad lovers.
I assume he means the main DC comics universe for the latter.
>>83186091
If you're talking about Owlman in the latter, that's false because all Owlmans are pedophiles.
Isn't that just the Thomas Wayne is Batman universe though? I mean his wife was Joker in that one.
what do you think about the upcoming Blue Sky movie, sequel to one of the most highest grossing serie of animated movies?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyLquKn3Swc
If we don't count Puss in Boots, this has more sequels than Shrek. How nuts is that?
But the movie looks stupid.
I stopped caring about Ice Age after the second movie to be quite honest fampai.
