No OP, it's us, the audience. It's a commentary on our lives and how we watch Arrow despite it terribleness.

Apparently it's Laurel.
The fat bald Bendis-esque showrunner decided to kill off the original love interest to make way for the all-new Felicity show.
Just got the TPB for this and started reading it. But I have no idea what's going on. It seems the story starts off already within a major conflict. I just read Sinestro Corps War without any issues, but not really sure if I need more knowledge going into IC.
What's the sparknotes of what I need to do going in?
Batman made a killsat called OMAC that's turning people into robots because he's an asshole.
Wonder Woman killed a guy called Maxwell Lord and now everyone's afraid of her.
The villains of the DCU are all getting together under the command of Lex Luthor (you'll get to that in a bit), except the Joker, who was snubbed.
The JLA Watchtower blew up and Martian Manhunter was kidnapped.
The JLA all hate each other because of a horrible series called Identity Crisis please don't read it.
The villains who are about to be...

I've never read Infinite Crisis, but my understanding is that there was some general buildup stuff in a series of things wth the label Countdown to Infinite Crisis (not to be confused with the shitty and pointless Countdown to Final Crisis) as far as some subplots go. And you'll probably want to read COIE if you haven't already but I assume you probably have.
Batman made a Satellite to monitor metahumans and called it Brother Eye, it gained sentience and went rogue.
Blue Beetle uncovered a conspiracy and solved the mystery alone. At the end of the trail was his old friend, Maxwell Lord, who shot Ted in the head.
So Diana did what she does best.
Also Rann-Thanagar War.
The whole build up has the subtitle Prelude to Infinite Crisis.
And you need to read Crisis on Infinite Earths, too.
Why does /co/ dislike this show so much?
>inb4 "YELLING: THE SHOW XD
Besides from the people who obsessively hate all modern animation, I don't see a lot of hate for this show.
/co/ has shit taste anon
/co/ doesn't, there's just this thing going on recently about the simple ass artstyle, blah blah who fucking cares. Why do you even give a shit?
Does anyone have advice for someone wanting to break into the animation industry?
From what I've heard, it's near impossible to do without already having connections. I guess that explains why "professional" creators nowadays are producing garbage while fan creators are creating content that is as good as or better than the source material.
>be rich
>get into calarts
and there you're now at cartoon network or disney instead of a shit-tier flash studio

What are your /co/ family stories?
>>80540300
I don't have one because my entire family looks down on me for being interested in comics and cartoons
>>80540300
I watched the Flash with my 22 year-old sister, and my mom watched a few of them too.

My dad met Julie Newmar (Catwoman from the 60s show) when at a Vietnam protest.
He also used to live down the street from Linda Carter.
What are your thoughts on Morrison's JLA? Also as someone trying to get into DC comics where should I start? I really like what I've seen of the Flash, Shazam, Superman and Green Lantern, and I really like trippy multiverse stuff.
>>80540283
Morrison's JLA is fan-fucking-tastic. Kelly's JLA is severly underrated. For multiverse stuff read Morrison's JLA, Morrison's Bat-Epic, Final Crisis, and the Multiversity. Yeah Morrison is dope as fuck.
For the other characters, Johns is best for Green Lantern/Flash (his Wally run is great), and I honestly don't know if there's ever been a good Shazam/Captain Marvel series. People like the Johns series but I found it ehhh.
Also, check out (because you're a cool guy)...

Morrison's whole idea was to make a ridiculous balls to the wall HUGE action comic. The pedal is on the floor the entire time with no looking back. The JLA and superheros in general were pretty limp and wishy washy at the time so Morrison took the top names of the DCU and threw them on the team with a big hit of crack. Morrison packs more ideas in a single issue than most writers do for an entire run. The artwork is 90's as fuck but the style just adds to the insanity.
A stellar cape comic if you can deal with your head spinning from time to time.

Thanks for the recs! Really excited to try this stuff out!

The crazy stalker from the future is right. Why is it when folks get powers they put on costumes and fight anobynously instead of having there bodies studied. Imagine how many more people would be saved if Peter Parker went out and said "Hey guys Spider+Neogenic...

Well, in the case of Spider-Man and Flash at least, how they got their powers was basically a billion to one chance.
Getting bitten by a radioactive spider COULD give you powers...or more likely just give you super cancer.
Plus, it's often implied that people who get powers from this shit had some special genetic thing that activated or reacted specifically to this event or some shit.
At least those things used to be the reason. Now that we have five Hulks, ten Flashes and about six hundred...

Not everybody wants to be an astronaut or a surgeon. If you got superpowers would your first thought be "I want to become a firefighter"? I'm sure some heroes lend their powers and tech to actual scientists like Richards and Pym but widespread distribution of superpowers doesn't ever really work
>>80539780
>>80539904
There's been literally a gazillion iterations where some noble superhero decided to give their powers up for research or whatever only for the evil gubmint to turn them into their own human weapon instead.
That's why superheroes don't do it.

Shit that got dark quick.
I feel bad for the little boys who are going to be fans of this who, on top of already being bullied for it, will grow up to learn the producers and writers despised them.
>>80539556
How ironic it is that Steven Universe of all things has become the last bastion of masculinity in currently airing children's cartoons.
>>80539556
Does anyone have any quotes or sources for the stuff that the producers and writers and creators of the reboot have been saying? It'd be great to have some concrete stuff for the naysayers who keep saying they're not just making this new show to sell toys to little girls.
There's nothing to worry about, nobody's going to be a fan of this.
