I had a free 1 year animation class on Brazil and was them two weeks later caled to work on an animation studio...I had never draw anything digital before.

So, I'm trying to learn how to write comics. I read Denny o'neils book, but I'm still having trouble laying out a page and dialog and script structure. I'm still trying the Morrison method but I'm always unsatisfied with my layout. Does anybody here have recommendations, suggestions, advice?

I just saw how someone else formatted a comic script and I said "I like that" so I started formatting my scripts in the same exact way, except over time I did a few minor changes to it. I didn't read a book or anything, didn't need to.

Know who’s actually the most excited about the upcoming Suicide Squad? Harley Quinn herself. When we talked to Margot Robbie about her upcoming new movie with Tina Fey and Martin Freeman, Whisky Tango Foxtrot, she shared some amazing Suicide Squad information. Like, the fact that she’s dying to see the movie herself. It actually sounds like we’re going to have to fight Robbie to get to the front of any ticket line for prime seats—for this one, and its possible sequel (!?).
And judging from our first-look at Harley Quinn in the movie, she’s going to win.

I think he’s so talented, and to do a comic book movie with a director like David, who is going to make it so dark and cool and different, just to me, that sounded like exactly what I thought they should be doing with comic book movies (Margot DC cast member MVP :yejoice:). I was on board. And you know, fortunately the end product [became] something even better than I could have ever imagined.

>MR: Oh, we tried on every variation of the costume. I cannot emphasis enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried. We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her. I really love where we ended up. And who knows, maybe in the sequels we’ll go with the court jester one. I think there’s a world of possibilities.

So how does one even get into Marvel comics? I've looked up several guides online but most of these suggest starting at events like Secret Wars or the Civil War. I read the first one (of the first of the 3? secret wars series) and as someone who has never read any comics apart from random issues when I was a teenager, I had no idea who a lot of the people were. And Kitty Pryde and that one dude were having a relationship? I had no idea. I feel like I'm missing a lot there. Should I just start reading the comics all the way from the 60s or 70s or whatever and read every single comic since then until today? Do some kind of catching up serials exist that only have the most important events in them?
I'm mostly interested in the Xmen and the Avengers but also kind of Spiderman. Where should I start with each of these series and what should I read to have a good idea of everything? The X-men seem very confusing to me especially what with all the different series with slightly different names and it seems like the group changes a lot over time.

You can do what I did and just dive the fuck in. Grab comics that look interesting and give em a try. At the end of the day continuity isn't all that important. Just get a feel for what kinds of stories you like.

It just seems like a lot of them do need some kind of background information. For example, I sort of know who Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, etc the most iconic Xmen are, I know Jean Grey turned into the Phoenix shit or whatever and almost killed everyone. But when I looked at the modern Xmen comics, it seems like Cyclops is some kind of a bad guy now and the Xavier school is now Jean Grey school or some shit and I have no idea how all of that happened. And it's difficult to find out just how far back I need to go to catch up on all this stuff.

For the Avengers, I would recommend Avengers Forever, but that might be throwing you in too deep to start depending on your knowledge of the characters. However, Busiek does a fine job of keeping the reader informed.
For the X-men just read anything from Claremont. He made the X-men into the icons they are today.
