It never occurred to me that Tirek was the villain from that Gen 1 movie. I thought he was based on some myth. I've seen it years ago, know the plotand fetish scenes, but never caught his name.

Tyson Hesse's art is pretty good, but he's also a massive tool, so with those two factors I'm fine with passing on it.

Does anyone else feel that Steven Universe is kinda overrated. It's not an awful show but it tries to do a lot and ends up not doing it well. I just binged watch this show up until (what I think) is the most recent episode where they play baseball. It flip flops between being a drama, comedy, SoL and action show without doing any of it particularly well. The non-musical number songs are excellent though. Also what kind of bugs me is how quickly plots are resolved. Malachite was built up for a whole season and then just was defeated in a few minutes, same with the cluster....

A new season of Samurai Jack is being made for Adult Swim Toonami. 10 episodes in length, TV14 minimum, no official release date yet.
Adult Swim is funding two new 6 episode seasons of FLCL. Expected release is late 2017/early 2018.

I'm trying to find this old cartoon, but I'm not having much luck. From what I recall, it stars a black cat and an orange dog - who both have a rounded/fat design. They live in this huge ass house/mansion where the cat and dog are like miniscule in comparison to say the furniture. Each episode ended with one or both of them being left in dangerous situation that one can only assume ended in their demise. I'm sure the title had an & in it. Have you read it? It's nothing amazing but it's not bad.
Ellis didn't kill all the characters off. He kept Battalion and Synergy alive (and they were the only two, outside of Backlash, that people gave a fuck about) and he also kept Swift alive, as Swift was a pre-Ellis character too.
But the deal with Stormwatch is this: the book was going to be canceled with issue #50 but Ellis's run was a surprise hit that they decided to relaunch the comic rather than just keep it going with the original numbering, in hopes that a new #1 would bring in new readers and boost sales.
