As for the spices in >>7571319 use the paprika, garllic powder, onion powder, cayenne, oregano, salt and black pepper. Mix together and literally rub on the meat. You can add some brown sugar to it if you would like as well.

If it's your first time, I'd actually suggest not to combine your own spices. Go to a grocery store and find a premade rib-rub that you can use.
My favorite is Famous Daves rib rub or Wee Willie's rub (its more local tho).
This way, you can get an idea of how a rub should taste in general.

In a Mac n cheese would be pretty nice. I make smoked Gouda Mac quite often and I love it. Make sure to use some milder cheeses or the smoky taste can overpower the dish.

Look up how to make a bechamel/Mornay sauce. Boil the pasta and add the cheesy bechamel to it. It needs more liquid than just pasta + cheese can provide.

/ck/ will bully me, but i think you should use a mix of processed cheese (e.g. velveeta) and real cheddar. like 50/50.
velveeta makes everything smooth and silky. real cheese for the flavor and richness.

Italians used to take their pasta more seriously. They used to make it fresh often and demand it be fresh in restaurants. Now many of them boil dried Barilla or some other such shit. In certain regions though, you'll still find that they're pretty serious about their pasta.
futurist italians take pasta VERY seriously.
the others are just so familiar with it i would imagine they take it for granted. but when they see other people fuck it up it annoys them.
and the whole 'al dente' thing is just fetishised by people into restaurant culture, it is not a particularly italian thing, everyone likes texture in their food.

I work a lot in Afghanistan. The bases over there are like 50% populated by people from India and Nepal.
I eat so much damned Indian food for like 3 or 6 months at a time, but the time I get back on US soil its nice to just have something simple like a BLT. All their stuff is sooo heavily spiced. They always have the best tea though.

Are you a chef or do you know any IRL? What is it about that particular industry that attracts degenerates? I'm not saying all chefs are degenerate but theres a strong correlation. I know one who went to culinary school and went on to work in several kitchens. He was a heavy all day drinker, smoker, drugger, tatted up miscreant. He was like that before becoming a cook though. My first job was at a restaurant I wasn't always a heavy smoker or drinker since I started working in a restaurant at times it can get stressful due to stupid customers and shitty waitresses. I normally smoke a joint after my shift to get me though my day and once I'm done I go to a bar or one of my friends house have a few drinks and repeat.
Alright. It's 13 hours until I'm going to a great restaurant for a shit ton of food. I've been to this place several times before but have never quite made it through the evening. This time, is going to be different. I'm using training techniques more commonly used by eating contest participants. Over the course of the last week, I've been stretching my stomach using water. I've had a decent meal last night, I've been stretching my stomach with food. I've taken a laxative to clear out my stomach over the course of today, I'm drinking a shit ton of water to help stretch my stomach out. I'm going on a five mile run and the gym today. I'm not going to eat a thing today either until I'm at the table and they start bringing me the food.
Does /co/ prepare before hand if they know they're going to be faced with an inordinate amount of good food?
