Here's my advice on drawing. Bear in mind that it is probably bad advice, but feel free to take it anyway if you want.
The thing that helped me with art the most was to stop giving a shit.
I always thought I was a crappy artist, and then one day I realized I was right, and suddenly it didn't matter any more. Hell, up until today I was still working with colored pencils. Now I just draw for fun, and when it turns out crappy I just shrug, say "oh well", and move on. When people say "your art is crap", I can just say "I know" and go on with my day.
I'll probably never make anything too impressive, but I enjoy drawing a lot more with my current attitude.
I'm just sitting here waiting for Northern Excursion and Semantic Error to update...
