Local Jo-Ann's is closing so I got massive amounts of some kid's/character prints on the cheap. What are some interesting projects I can make with obnoxiously patterned fabric?

Pic related, I'm now the proud owner of way too much of this.

Hmm maybe make some frilly "lolita" dresses with them and sell them to fandom itas on storenvy or etsy? people will actually buy that shit.
also i dont think this needed its own thread, should we make this a Jo-ann's general?
>>
>>8883244
Please don't do this.

Why don't you just make fandom merchf? You could make little pillows or something, or design regular normalfag dresses. I can see something like a sleeveless dress with a circle skirt made out of this fabric being popular. Pencil cases, totebags.

For the love of god just don't make any lolita shit with it. Some people may buy ita shit, but I don't think it will be worth it in the end for you. You'd have a funner time just making objects out of it and again,...

Jo-anns thread then?

I got myself some primo fabric from Jo-anns the other day, soft white minky and some baby-blanket tier purple and white polkadots.

I also got Simplicity 8034, gonna make some cute unicorn plushes, was thinking of making some animal crossing characters.

Hey /cgl/, post your favorite/worst pokemon cosplays. (Gijinka or human, doesn't matter. Just don't post the Ash Ketchum last minute con cosplay please.)
While it may not be perfect, I thought my friend's Lugia was totally awesome.

When I cosplay, I usually want to cosplay from a live action source. However, there is an expectation that you should look like the actor in order to do this well. What do you think?

Also general live-action cosplay thread. Dumping Hannibal cosplays because that is my jam right now.

This is an example of the problem cosplaying live action. The cosplayers have talent but it seems off because they don't have faces similar to the characters. When cosplaying from animated sources, you can get away with making the costume match the source, but for live action that doesn't have iconic costumes, it seems to be all about facial resemblence to the actor.

>Are they doing Lolita fashion justice?
Imo yeah. They look super cute in lolita!

>What new prints should they wear next?
Not a print but all the photos I've seen of them are them wearing sweet, so I'd really like to see them wear something more mature like sweet classic.

>Lolita idols our future kawaii overlords?
They probably won't gain that much popularity but I hope it does become a thing.

What are some of your hobbies Cgl?

Are there any hobbies you got into because of Cosplay/Lolita?

Are there any you've dropped to make more time for Cosplay/Lolita?

Do you have any that completely contrast with your interest in Cosplay/Lolita?

My grandma taught me how to press flowers and I do that when I have the time. I prefer to use the flowers in my garden so I haven't been able to do much this winter unfortunately. Sometimes I take advantage of the post Valentines sales and buy bouquets just because.

I collect postcards. A lot of what I've got in my collection are new and I display them in a collage that takes up pretty much an entire wall of my room. But I also have some old ones that belonged to my grandmother and some I bought online.

At the moment my goal is own some Kira Imai postcards.

Are ren fair costumes welcome as well? I do a lot of high fantasy stuff and I'd love to show my progress and discuss construction, but since I won't actually roleplay but just enjoy the crafting I'm not sure if this is the right space.
>>
>>8878862
I'm pretty sure that depends on the larp and what are their setting. postapoc larps have different standards than high fantasy and low fantasy ones and even in just one genre there are differences.

But if you just want to show the costume, then yeah, go for it, it's totally accepted here

So I really like the look of SDC and it's still in stock but I hate the carousel horses, I keep thinking about getting it but I like themes that are a bit more mature, like florals and architecture. I saw there was a sheer opal fabric jsk from baby that is similar but haven't seen it for sale in black, just pink. Hoping to see more of the interesting fabrics for sale
>>
>>8889301
Given how SDC is not selling out on AP's site, it's gonna go on sale / cheap second hand if a low price is something that will help you settle.

Does anyone know an in store SS based in Osaka?

I sent an inquiry to Kairai (think a couple of other gulls have used them), but they're looking to charge 15,000 yen more than the price of the item. Has anyone else used them for a place other than Tokyo?
