I always think these types belong in a pirate coord at a Rennfaire. It's embarrassing to be around these types out in public, I avoid them so I'm glad they boast about it so I know in advance.
What's the deal with ACP events at conventions? I just went to AX and it seemed like every single person I knew was working for them wearing a costume for various booths. Is it paid? Is it cool? How do you get a job with them? Is there a union or something?

As stated, badge, and sometimes goodies/free merch/access to guests (depends on booth). Generally you will work every day of the con in some capacity but figure half a day each. You get a free badge, sometimes an exhibitor badge (depends on booth), which is worth its weight in gold if you aren't one of the groups who gets early entry to the hall and you are trying to buy stuff. Okay, so I have a problem I can't seem to find a solution to. As of right now, I don't wear Lolita very often, maybe once a month, so my clothes don't get a lot of wear. I'm also very mindful to keep my clothes clean and don't wear them anywhere that may end up getting them dirty or smelly (around smokers, or at restaurants). I always wear bloomers and a blouse, so my skirts and JSKs can be worn a couple times before I wash them since they don't touch my skin.

It's obvious that the costs to attend cons have gone up over the years with admissions, hotels and travel costs, major cons are no longer relatively cheap to go to anymore. If the con is close by to you, then you are one of the lucky ones that get to save some money.
Last year at dragoncon I spent damn near $2000 and a damn good chunk of that went to hotel and travel costs.

My boyfriend doesn't understand why I'm interested in lolita fashion and doesn't like how much the pieces sell for. He's into other expensive hobbies like motorbikes and cars though so I'm confused why he can't connect the dots. I still wear it on weekends regardless of what he thinks of it.

I got mine back completely untouched after about 3 months of waiting. I guess he forgot about them. Not that I really care about skin smoothing, special effects, etc but it was part of his $175 package.

Hey guys I hav a con coming up and my gf and I want to wear Team Instinct armbands from Pokemon Go to show our affiliation, but honestly I've got no idea how to go about it and I thought you guys would have the best knowledge about this kind of thing. Should I make a patch or a decal or just paint it on??

Has anyone tried out the new lockshop wigs yet? I've owned a lot of theirs over the last few years and those new ones look like shit. the manufacturers changed or something. any reviews? specifically the new mermaid wigs?

My friend got a newer Lockshop wig as part of a wig grab bag from Lolita Collective. Not sure what style it was, but it was shiny like a costume wig and the wefts fell apart just from taking it out of the bag. By the time we got it packaged back up to exchange it already had a bald spot on the cap just from light handling. Luckily she got an older model wig that isn't falling apart in our hands. Can't say that this will happen with all the new wigs, but proceed cautiously.

Oh man I was just looking through this issue with my new beau last night. He wanted me to show him sailor lolita and the men's counterpart to lolita. It feels nice to have found someone who really digs you and thinks youre cute in lolita, but like not in a creepy way or anything.
