How do you go about affording your cosplays? I just got into j-fashion and was so excited to find out about how cheap taobao was, but when I realized how much shipping was even with SS it gave me second thoughts. What do you anons do to afford your stuff?

I have a job but my mind is blown how people can afford $300 on just shipping for things. It's a turn off for someone financially sane.

But I also have less money and am more obsessed with my body size than ever, so there's that.

That you like them unfortunately doesn't mean that other people will also like your photos.
If you do it for the followers: try to find out what content gets the most attention and is liked most, then do more of that. Use the right hashtags.
If you want more specific concrit, post your IG or some of your photos, and we can tell you what you could improve.
>>
>>9001677
Make sure you're tagging appropriately. Spamming irrelevant tags is not only useless but puts people off liking or following.
Interact with users you like. I mean, be genuine about it, don't just spam "kawaiiii" on all of their photos, but little interactions can make someone interested in your insta, especially if you're nice.
Also don't go onto someone's profule and like the last 50 photos they've posted, I have two people who keep doing that every month or so and even...

Can you guys help me find more like pic related? I love the simple yet feminine, elegant but cute look that japanese fashion has mastered so well.
Inspiration as well as stores would be appreciated <3

I love cute and feminine clothing, but there's many ways to do it. I've decided to go with Larme kei. It's really feminine and more on the mature side of things, but cute nonetheless

let's talk about buying cosplay materials.

>where do you gulls like to buy items like fabrics and embellishments?
>are there any uncommon places you like to frequent?

common sources (for US gulls, at least):
fabric.com
joann's
michaels
hobby lobby

Joann's
/end thread
>>
I feel like Joann's is good for people who are still beginners and aren't accustomed to different types of fabric yet. If I can avoid it I do, shit is a lot more cheaper online but it's always a gamble.

I get a majority of stuff from Spandex House, Dharma Trading, and fabric.com. But I do like Joann's because I don't need to order swatches and wait.

An uncommon place I visit is 5 Below for eva foam. The have these kid yoga mats for $5 that are around 8cm thick.
>>
Walmart has spray paint and other hardware basics for cheap. Dollar tree has foam core but it's really only good for structural stuff to them cover and fill with expanding foam, spackle or bondo. Goodwill and thrift stores can have super random stuff like rolls of foam and tools. Also my preferred place for shoes and boots since I can't justify buying new shoes for cosplay unless they're super versatile. Randomly a lot of smoke shops carry basic colored lenses

Joanns 5 for $5 Simplicity and other pattern sales are the only good cheap way to get patterns....
