i want to see more like this- less costumey, more "real" cosplays. where the dresses are intracate and the wigs are multi-toned and look more like real hair. is there a name for it? historically accurate? grounded?

I'm torn, OP.
I like seeing some more realistic costumes sometimes, especially when done well/right but far too often people try to do this and just end up adding a bunch or unnecessary bling to make the gowns 'fancy' or 'real-life' instead of tackling the (more difficult) source material.
Examples I'm specifically put off by being the style popularized by homestuck's FancyTier bullshit and hoards of inaccurate disney princesses.
I find that the above groups typically do this so that they can stand out of a crowd special snowflake style too.
I tend to group this sort of thing with shitty steampunk versions, AU, etc.
tl;dr, I like OP's pics but all the other similar bullshit in the community has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I love how jfash stores decorate, so let's have a store/schowcase thread!

Do you still use animal novelty bags? Usakumya is mildly popular, and Meta released a leopard and squirrel bag this year. AP released those bat bags for HG/HL. Do you miss them? Never liked them?
The only animal bag I've ever liked is Dolly Cat, which I have coming in the mail to me. I've never been partial to teddy bears on bunny rabbits.

Is anyone planning on attending AkibaExpo? It's a first year con hosted in Anaheim, California. I am going to second this actually. It is a turn off because for people complaining about not getting cool looking photos from photographers, they post stuff in groups saying 'ANY' photographer. They get settled with a guy with a shitty commercial Nikkon. Instead of, you know, looking up photographers or asking what photographers are going to be attending and then looking up their work to see if you are interested in shooting with them and their style.
Its lazy for cosplayers an this is coming from a cosplayer. I don't shoot with someone unless I know their style will suit my cosplay or what I have in mind for photos. I would prefer to work with someone who actually bothers processing photos properly than just some random guy from a Facebook page that messages me from a forum post who does early 2000s type MS Paint tier work.

From what I see, "Any" is just what people say because no one would normally ask to shoot said people. Big cosplayers don't need to do this, considering the fact that photographers are getting in line to get shoots with them.
