Hey people.
Okay, so I've been trying to figure this out all day. Now I'm coming to you guys for help. I'm trying to help a friend salvage his macbook pro. It wouldn't start and the fan would run on high. Safeboot, NVRAM dump, and a SCM reset later I got it to turn on and save his data. Now, I'm pretty sure its his HD, but it could be the sata controller.
Since I've saved the data, he's okay with Linux being on the machine. I tried to swap the HD for a different one, realizing that the Mac OSX installation I have won't exactly...

You need to format the disk GPT and boot Linux using EFI.
Or, y'know, download an OSX rescue disk and have a working Unix system with full hardware support in less than five minutes' effort.
Ask yourself if it actually needs Linux, or if you're just installing it to be cool.

Hey guys. I'm in need of some tech support.
So I want to play some old games I found in a box. Setting up Win95 in VertualBox should be doable I gathered. I'm such a noob.
Getting this error message during setup (off of a booting cd I created).

If they're Windows games, and if you have some Unix computer around, you might try Wine.
I got it to work, but can't figure out the VBox additions (see pic).
During installation of software that comes with windows it couldn't find some stuff on the CD (mainly .vxd and .dll files), don't know how that's relevant.
I think my university has finally found out about irc, though I'm not sure. I had to cycle through a bunch of possible servers to gain access to rizon, and the number of working servers grows shorter by the day. Is this really the Uni blocking me, or are there other reasons why my connections keep getting refused? Also, are there other ways to download anime besides piracy and irc?

You could always do a trecert and see where the trace stops. If it stops while trying to leave campus then it is the uni. If it stops while reaching rizon then you are being blocked by them for some reason or another.

Not really. You could try a VPN. Another option is to maybe DDLs since Horriblesubs has them for recent releases (Don't expect great speeds though), just they get taken down from time to time...

Thanks anon, seems to me that my uni actually has found out about rizon. Most of the servers are blocked and of the ones that aren't the connection usually times out. Seems like I'll have to rely on HS providing DDLs.

Might as well try my luck with a Fallout 4 tech support question.
So I have Curie as a companion. But whenever I try to swap her for another companion she walks off to my settlement BUT I can't get her again as a companion, instead she goes into the next part of the romance dialogue. And she keeps repeating the same options, even when all are exhausted. I don't get the option to ask her to come with me again. It's probably something with the romance check I need to pass or something, but it keeps failing.
Any ideas?

Im trying to run Shadow of the Colossus with PCSX2. This is my first time using this emulator. I selected the iso in PCSX2 but the boot failed saying file not found path: IsoFileSystem. How do i get the game to run?

That game is not possible to run well but select the iso file like pic related. You seem to be viewing the contents of the iso file
Try mounting the iso to a cd drive with wincdemu then just run off the drive.
Used to have much better upload speeds. Web pages are taking fucking forever to load, used to load instantly. I'm not sure if it's the router malfunctioning but before i go out and buy a new one anyone know what it is?

Maybe that's how it shows up for you, but when I'm throttled it still shows I've got 3MB/S when I've actually got 100kb/s.
Are you sure your torrent client/steam/any downloads aren't downloading, and no one else is on your network, meaning password protected wifi.
