I left Dark Souls 1 thinking back on what a fantastic experience it was. It had it's flaws, janks and quirks, but overall one of the best games I've ever played, and when the port to Steamworks is complete, I'm returning to do another playthrough and some more PVP after over 600 hrs with GFWL.
This coming from a hardcore nostalgiafag who still thinks Majora's Mask is the best game ever made. I do a 100 % playthrough at least once a year, ffs.
I left Dark Souls 2 however, with a bitter taste. It was a good game, make no mistake, but it didn't feel nearly as tight. It felt sloppy, stretched and grindy compared. I've done all the DLCs (which were the highlights of the game), and quit playing it after 200 hrs, not seeing myself returning.
So, /v/. What went wrong?

I love RTS games that have scenarios where you have to hold the line against huge waves of enemies until the time runs out, like the 'Desperate Alliance' mission in Starcraft. What are some other good examples of this?
Not too keen on just tower defense, since there's much more of a limit to building and unit production.

If that's a screenshot from your current game OP, you really should put some more points on endurance if you're gonna be using a sword like that, and I recommend using it 2 handed or you'll be too vulnerable after you swing it.
