Bought this game today, from CEX of all places. I played a few hours. I'm enjoying the fact that you can talk to the enemies and reason with them. For those that played it, how did you rike it?
Sounds like it's your first SMT game. If you're liking it, you'll probably really enjoy the rest of the series. Soul Hackers is considered a weak entry in the series.
Next I would try SMT4 then see if you can get into Nocturne after that.

Stick with it, the game isn't very difficult so you shouldn't ever get stuck.

Content providers work too closely with "journalists" who are no longer actually journalists. Publisher says "Give our game a 9" and Polygon says "9.what?"
