But I suppose these aren't actually horror films to you lot are they? since they aren't scary.
They don't have to be, they are Horrific. that's the phrase that encompasses all of the horror genre.

Silent hill - not scary: Horrific
Forbidden siren - not scary: Horrific

I get your points but nobody was arguing against it and that's one hell of a blog post, did you even intend to post that here or is your tumblr lacking a wall of text right now?
The problem is you have to WANT to be scared for horror games to work. You have to play in the dark, remove all distractions and immerse yourself in the game. Sadly most people either think a game should be able to do that for them by magic or they deliberately sabotage it, so they can say they completed the game without feeling scared.
I think VR is going to help a great deal when it's more commonplace. I played a few demos and Alien Isolation on the DK2 and it makes a massive difference.

Origins is the best when it come to story, characters and overall world immersion and can be much more difficult and plays more like a strategy game on anything above normal, 2 was alright but the only thing it does better is combat gameplay, inquisition was the only one i couldn't bring my self to beat because the power mechanic was stupid and woupd force you to do mundane tasks just to complete the story so i got bored shortly after skyreach and the multi-player is fun at first but extremely repetitive.
My friend and I have a shit-ton of grindy games. We don't want to play grindy games together. Help.
