Other thread was deleted so how about those classic Xbox games? I wish I had a way to play this still, I barely scratched the surface before moving onto another game but what I saw was brilliant.
I would have bought an Xbone just for the remake. That's how much I loved this game.

Having a game reference another one by the same developer is the worst shit. It's the most self congratulatory thing you can do in videogames. It's literally masturbating in our faces.
"Hey guys, remember this other game we've made? So do we! We'll never let this product stand on its own legs but we'll instead piggyback the success of our other game!"
If it's subtle and done tastefully I don't see what the problem is.
