I think it's a literal disease caused by Kickstarter in a way. A mental illness. They're addicted to not working for their money. Once they get it, it takes forever to actually release the games because nobody wants to get off their asses after their pockets are already weighed down with your money. This extends to an eventual release where they realize they'll be held accountable if they're not careful, so they do the absolute bare minimum, which still manages to slip under the limbo bar that is gamers' standards.

Why the fuck are games like this allowed on Steam?
I got my son a Steam gift card for Christmas. The next day I'm hearing girls moaning coming from his room. I go into the room and see him matching 3 or more similar colored icons while a topless girl is moaning sexually. I had my son show me the Steam store page and realized that Steam doesn't have ESRB rating like console games. I notice that no store pages officially states what kind of content are in a game. Those community tags can't always be trusted. I think that Steam should explicitly state rather or not a game has extreme violence, nudity, suggestive themes just like how console games do.

I was recently looking through the inner workings of Super Mario Maker after the recent update. I found an some interesting things. Keep in mind, I had to force the games textures in the previous version style to avoid any weirdness. I also had to replace four random tiles. Trying to use any of these items causes the game to crash, but you can shake a Pokey to get a Fruit Pokey (Pokey's that switch from spiked to Yoshi Food every few seconds)
What the "desert update" adds:
The Angry Sun (Enemy)
Pokey/Fruit Pokey (Enemy)
Water/Lava/Quicksand (Tile)
Fire Snake (Enemy)
Fire Bros (Enemy, Fuse a Fire Flower and a Hammer Bro)
Desert Theme
Trying to use any of this in the game's current state will cause it to crash.
Edit: I managed to make them work in the editor, but nothing has any AI.
Also, the desert theme doesn't work.
